1 H5 _8 Z! l6 L/ s4 y; CAs a Recreation Coordinator, you will assist in all activities of staff and volunteers including: recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling and evaluating staff. In addition they provide support, leadership, and resources to leaders. Other duties include preparing timesheets, booking facilities, monitoring and ordering supplies, ensuring overall participant and program safety, and acting as a customer service representative by responding to incoming queries.8 x( w; r) i3 B/ O+ _. g

1. Registered Programs Coordinator (South or North): plan, coordinate and implement Registered Programs which will include: sport camps, cooking, dance, drama and art, environmental, child initiated and driven play, preschool and special events.

2. Day Camp Coordinator (River Valley): plan, coordinate and implement various River Valley Daycamps including: Outdoor Pursuits (biking, canoeing, kayaking, archery, low ropes), Outdoor Education (camping skills, shelter building, fire building, nature awareness), child initiated and driven play, and Sport/Joint Venture Camps.  River Valley Coordinators will be required to drive large vehicles such as vans with trailers.  Note:  A current drivers abstract and a City driver's permit are required for this position.

Playground Coordinator (South or West or East): plan, coordinate and implement Service Area Drop in  playground/wading pool programs for preschoolers (ages 3 - 5) and/or Children (ages 6 - 12) and special events where required. 5 positions available. ) i9 m7 B4 N) x# D1 }, \% f0 p( E
1 position is 40 hours/week from late June to August.

Youth Coordinator (Skateboard, Leader in Training & Drop-In): plan, coordinate and implement Service Area programs for youth (12 - 17 years).  This includes Skateboard parks, Mobile Sports programs, Youth Drop- In, Youth Special Events and the Leaders in Training programs available. 5 positions available. 1 position is 20 hours/week for up to 4 months.8 g' k7 @) ^7 \) c: `

5. Wading Pool Coordinator (City Wide): plan, coordinate and implement Service Area Wading Pool Programs and operations. Wading Pool coordinators will be required to complete Dangerous Goods Transportation course due to transporting pool chemicals to program sites.

Inclusion Coordinator (City Wide): assist co-workers with the registration, assessment and placement of children with mild to moderate disabilities into appropriate registered programs.  Provide support to programs to facilitate the integration of children with disabilities." e, x1 ^( i; ?/ o9 e! Qualifications& |' N5 L- P3 s# c' q$ l7 m! S
•        Completion of the twelfth (12th) school grade and enrollment or completion of a Recreation Administration or related program4 n7 \/ P' K, j
•        Minimum of one (1) year directly related experience in conducting recreational, cultural or related educational programs

•        Highly developed and demonstrable verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills2 w- c4 {# M2 a  ^5 p$ J7 a4 q3 @
•        Current Standard First Aid and CPR (level B) or equivalent is required prior to commencing employment (required by May 4, 2010)9 v1 V0 U% _) U8 X. v  B
•        Applicant must possess a valid class 5 Alberta Motor Vehicle Operator's license (non-probationary and non-graduated) or operators licensing equivalent recognized by the Operator Licensing and Vehicle Control Regulation, Alta. Reg. 320/2002
+ I- ]$ A. [( {6 l•        Applicants will be required to arrange their own transportation and where appropriate will be reimbursed in accordance with City of Edmonton policy. This may require the applicant to obtain business use auto insurance

HOURS OF WORK: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday. Some evening and weekend work is required.+ }& e+ j' r! X# m7 Q

  V5 J0 v7 l1 O- `3 o; N* S6 cSALARY RANGE: 21B, Salary Grade: 002, $16.677 - $20.607 (Hourly). The rates quoted are in accordance with a collective agreement between the Union and the City of Edmonton." A$ L: c, {3 U/ a* N% g
