Position: Project Coordinator, Smart Choices.

Responsibilities:7 ^5 c- `: ]6 w% z3 v k. F7 V
- Design and deliver educational and preventative workshops about addictions to kids & youth
4 ]1 N5 f$ Q5 ^- Work with a team of actors to develop and deliver of a touring play about problem gambling: K6 g7 E- |6 C/ m6 H) ]4 ?
- Build and sustain relationships with schools, social service agencies and community groups, c% P3 H* A7 N6 w I. e( H
- Identify community needs and best practices in the area of addictions prevention and further develop the program to meet those needs
' w+ W4 p+ ? `- Complete regular reporting to Alberta Health Services – Addictions & Mental Health/ I$ A( u. q& h

4 b2 ?8 K: `% Q# f8 aKey Qualifications:
- o+ k, w8 P: A# k6 {! B' D- Post secondary degree or diploma in social/human sciences
9 y4 v6 I m: g3 @5 v2 e% l0 U- At least 2 years experience in the fields of addictions & mental health, education, health promotion, public health or youth engagement
/ V' T4 j0 t8 B6 ~. T: ^* ?) q7 Z- Strong ability to work well with youth, community workers, teachers and others
& d q) r& ~2 d- b- Experience doing program development7 B4 M/ y! [) h
- Strong organizational and coordination skills
# @% S h; a3 b' I# K- Self-directed and able to take initiative% ^! g. E( L9 G! q
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; fluency in an Asian language is an asset
! G" G4 G2 o6 G" A- Vehicle and valid drivers’ license2 @8 y/ q& N3 a; J4 d9 \% `5 a3 E5 I

- Experience conducting community needs assessments and program evaluation
$ S5 f# s/ f$ B t6 j' }- Knowledge of and experience working with immigrant and refugee communities
% [% h4 h) J6 M$ j1 `! P$ d- An understanding of the relationship between addictions and mental health
3 e2 P* W$ r! G5 a. V k5 b6 C- B/ J- Skills in marketing & promotions
) ~! a/ I: A1 i5 k+ g- Some evening and weekend work may be required
