community, Dr Carl Amrhein, Provost and Vice-President Academic has

Influenza Like Illness (ILI).

available, including signs and symptoms of influenza and what you should

In this and any flu season, it is important to take responsibility for) ~( B5 H- v& k/ }+ x% x$ f
your own health. Alberta Health and Wellness points out that the! K- P7 G' b6 _. [6 M, T# Y4 ]
influenza virus is contagious and is spread person to person via close/ Y- ?4 D1 }9 w0 L) \: T0 a: W" V
contact. The virus also rests on hard surfaces such as counters and
4 x0 x( d0 j7 R- q! A% M! Cdoorknobs and can spread when people touch contaminated surfaces and
5 G3 p# L' g, B$ z5 Ithen unknowingly transfer the virus to their eyes, nose or mouth.
; g5 f5 B A/ @* f# D% fPracticing good preventive hygiene (e.g., wash your hands and cover your
. G9 w4 g6 E( ]" }0 u5 Tcough) and following the self-care practices as outlined by Alberta5 j `' J6 G- E9 Y. Y
Health and Wellness will greatly assist in minimizing the chance of
