(i.e., a doctor's note) is not required for student absences due to

your own health. Alberta Health and Wellness points out that the
# @6 V* x7 b ]9 i6 z( a& iinfluenza virus is contagious and is spread person to person via close0 S! L+ V Q, o" j
contact. The virus also rests on hard surfaces such as counters and
$ @& P9 b# J( kdoorknobs and can spread when people touch contaminated surfaces and# q* F1 P4 ~% ?
then unknowingly transfer the virus to their eyes, nose or mouth.
1 n; s) L/ T6 K l' \! yPracticing good preventive hygiene (e.g., wash your hands and cover your
5 z8 K3 k1 C0 ucough) and following the self-care practices as outlined by Alberta
) X b$ F4 a2 H2 l' ]Health and Wellness will greatly assist in minimizing the chance of2 E$ o1 W9 M0 U8 J0 P
infection.
