Field Operator - Balzac

Position Overview  
The Field Operator is responsible for monitoring production in field locations surrounding the Balzac Gas Plant facility (10 minutes north of the Calgary city limits; 30 km from the downtown core). This position works a 35 day shift rotation, which includes 12 hour days/nights and 9 hour training days. This role is bound by the terms of the Collective Agreement (Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Local 773).
Job Duties/Responsibilities  
! l: z: Y# E+ |- \  m -  Display competency with operations procedures checklists and critical procedures;
8 K9 c8 ^* I) B0 t. n- }: u-  Provide day to day control of producing wells, pipelines and associated production equipment;
* a0 r4 u1 t$ R  X, t: h: [6 m* y-  Make and carry out recommendations to maximize production, minimize operating costs and eliminate downtime;
- E, X+ `$ C/ {+ b+ D8 o2 a( t-  Ensure all field related activities are completed safely, on schedule and in an environmentally safe and cost effective manner;
3 H9 N* D! C3 e1 q! z2 s-  Comply with all EH&S, Corporate and Regulatory rules and procedures. Report any unacceptable conditions and incidents;

Education/Experience  
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent in training and experience;
! ]5 M9 r$ i. i" g% y$ ^-  Minimum of 3 years' related experience operating sour gas wells, pipelines and compressors;
- l; d4 N$ ~: D& Z: x+ \# v" x3 p: D; p-  Current H2S Alive certification or equivalent;
, ^- ~* I5 A3 B' K-  Dependable, organized and self motivated;
-  Strong initiative and problem solving skills;
