Position Overview  
) f. z* v" R7 h4 z+ }3 D) C The Field Operator is responsible for monitoring production in field locations surrounding the Balzac Gas Plant facility (10 minutes north of the Calgary city limits; 30 km from the downtown core). This position works a 35 day shift rotation, which includes 12 hour days/nights and 9 hour training days. This role is bound by the terms of the Collective Agreement (Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Local 773).
Job Duties/Responsibilities  
-  Display competency with operations procedures checklists and critical procedures;
-  Provide day to day control of producing wells, pipelines and associated production equipment;
& z" ~& I# k3 Q( }5 M: D. y2 s-  Make and carry out recommendations to maximize production, minimize operating costs and eliminate downtime;
-  Ensure all field related activities are completed safely, on schedule and in an environmentally safe and cost effective manner;
8 v; T+ Z; t# F: n( K: t8 V-  Comply with all EH&S, Corporate and Regulatory rules and procedures. Report any unacceptable conditions and incidents;
  j6 t) v9 I4 M- n-  Work in a team-oriented atmosphere and contribute to the ongoing success of the Balzac Complex;

# Y+ m+ r5 _( f/ A# p" C* P: a  h - Grade 12 diploma or equivalent in training and experience;
0 V: h& |% }- l1 Z( S-  Minimum of 3 years' related experience operating sour gas wells, pipelines and compressors;
-  Current H2S Alive certification or equivalent;
/ c% y! ?' R( p6 P-  Dependable, organized and self motivated;
-  Strong initiative and problem solving skills;
- E% L$ U1 ~" r, K3 u% x7 _0 p& J  p% D-  A willingness and ability to work in outdoor conditions.
