The European Commission has just announced an agreement whereby English will

the other possibility.

' S+ U( R0 t* T. C  Gspelling had some room for improvement and has accepted a 5 year phase-in
plan that would become known as "EuroEnglish".

/ R) [, A4 G5 i8 r  F* iIn the first year, "s" will replace the soft "c". Sertainly, this will make
the sivil servants jump with joy.
/ G  E! U* u5 x8 x" J
1 h7 X. q: c, K$ w& k9 H! j3 o& VThe hard "c" will be dropped in favour of "k". This should klear up
5 W2 `/ h3 @# D4 bkonfusion, and keyboards kan have one less letter.

There will be growing publik enthusiasm in the sekond year when the
8 {* A  M3 t! D  D6 e4 o3 ltroublesome "ph" will be replaced with "f". This will make words like

Governments will enkourage the removal of double letters which have always

disgrasful and it should go away.

By the 4th yer people wil be reseptiv to steps such as replasing "th" with
