The European Commission has just announced an agreement whereby English will

As part of the negotiations, the British Government conceded that English
  g) }: j8 d- W0 [( s/ n! Qspelling had some room for improvement and has accepted a 5 year phase-in
& M+ f6 ~) _# [. b1 e* o& \plan that would become known as "EuroEnglish".

In the first year, "s" will replace the soft "c". Sertainly, this will make
7 y, f. ?, c; U% Tthe sivil servants jump with joy.
$ S+ M+ h  D3 t% j
7 S2 M! L3 J  r6 y! C% ]The hard "c" will be dropped in favour of "k". This should klear up
konfusion, and keyboards kan have one less letter.


3 Y0 D3 [& C7 S2 |+ n+ aThere will be growing publik enthusiasm in the sekond year when the
4 A; s- B9 W9 |  Y! F: C' b% [troublesome "ph" will be replaced with "f". This will make words like
5 C8 A9 C% u  Cfotograf 20% shorter.

In the 3rd year, publik akseptanse of the new spelling kan be expekted to
7 i' P2 H" Y/ ]% J  ]3 Z# U# F+ Qreach the stage where more komplikated changes are possible.
