THE EDMONTON REGION IMMIGRANT COUNCIL WOULD LIKE TO INVITE YOU TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 24/4 MENTORSHIP PILOT PROGRAM:
24 HOURS OVER 4 MONTHS
This fall, the Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) will be launching a mentorship pilot program, where we aim to match skilled immigrants with mentors in their occupations.
& r3 ~7 D4 _% d1 E8 cEligibility Criteria
All potential mentee candidates are required to meet the following criteria:
•An internationally educated professional living in Canada for three years or less
& j" `* F  F' \2 ~•Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post secondary education
  @  ]+ ~( j" d9 e. T. Q( v•Have Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or higher in oral English
4 B9 Q8 n  V( C3 ?•At least three years work experience in their area of expertise outside of Canada
' j* ]7 f+ T' h+ M6 V•No prior Canadian work experience in their field
•Be unemployed or underemployed – working for 20 hours a week or less
•Be eligible to work in Canada
•Have a job ready resume and have completed a job search workshop
& l  F$ N; h$ T9 m# @•Lack access to professional networks
•Be motivated to participate and be open to learning
Time Commitment
; c# N! O. W5 b# b* @8 D, r% DThe maximum number of hours involved in the ERIEC mentorship program is 6 hours a month for a total of 24 hours over 4 months.  This works out to approximately one and a half hours per week.
