Change for Children is looking for a Program and Administrative Assistant who is highly motivated, has excellent ability to work independently, effectively prioritize tasks, be able to manage a flexible work plan and take direction from Program Managers to ensure timely and consistent administrative and program support to our vibrant organization.0 W) c4 c$ i) C8 L$ i

+ p5 H! e  V; ]CHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.

3 N6 T/ B" K  G! ~  e$ p• Act as first point of contact for donors, partners, members, other stakeholders, and the general public.

• Complete data entry in various programs.0 X% W/ D2 b  n

  l, q# i, X' B- z• Maintain an organized filing system for office records, meeting minutes, government registrations and donor records; Process annual government and charitable registrations forms.

• Order and organize office supplies; Manage and maintain office systems and environment including policy and procedures manual and office operations manual.2 {0 O0 {# z% d) u% d/ V6 @

• Manage all CFCA administrative communications such as liaising with financial institutions, service providers etc. related to administrative management.

• Maintain inventory of communication materials.( p3 o* B; W0 z0 z6 d" T# m& d6 T) b

* q6 w, e& o. b* P( U- g1 k9 B% m9 w• Process volunteer applications, track volunteer hours, and assist with volunteer scheduling.- F) B! y" G& R' M" E! D# c

• Support management of online publicity and communication tools.

• Support the promotion of CFCA events in Alberta through online and print publicity resources.8 V7 ?4 Q6 x0 `- c" a6 P! _' z

• Support the management of requests for CFCA information and resources at public events.

• Compile information packages for fundraising and promotional purposes.

• Manage database and support distribution of print publications.

• Provide administrative support for public engagement events and mail outs.

: N4 B! X, J. X: f0 w• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.

• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.. v5 Z9 Y( |3 g1 x* r

• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.) ]5 ?9 \- @- e2 o

• Support logistical work required for CFCA’s Annual General Meeting

• Assist in administrative tasks related to donor recognition and event reconciliation as required.

. d, x5 @( W( k. Q7 iSkills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development." This position is Permanent part time (20 hours per week during regular office hours).
