EDMONTON - Two men are facing charges after Edmonton police pulled over a truck filled with freshly cut marijuana plants.

. `+ e) ~# K! x* c3 V3 \6 aPolice say they got a tip Thursday night from a citizen who told them he'd been driving behind a cube van that was giving off a strong odour of marijuana.

! ?: l2 v! b! v) N. c/ v% COfficers who responded to the call said they also smelled the pot plants about half a block before they pulled over the van./ V, q1 p1 K5 ] k( h& R8 G. f
2 o J. h! Y5 L. HPolice say there were up to 1,500 mature marijuana plants tied in bundles inside the van.

Roughly 400 kilograms of pot was taken from the vehicle and the driver and a passenger were arrested without incident.

Charges of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking have been laid against Dihn Xuan Luu, 44 and Deng Xuan Dihn, 51. |
