Duties: Special Events
( f. I3 v2 \5 E/ l+ `# s0 W3 k1 hPlan, implement and evaluate Special Events:
; y5 D0 ], n! x4 @( @/ L· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee
- l+ r. B1 R3 v+ H$ ~4 N; ?: n2 g1 z· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist
( N( F4 p: _* V6 y% N% ywith decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the 8 z' ~& B# W M& u$ E0 N: J
advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure 4 U# r3 U1 z, w! ?
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events. 0 |0 A2 Q8 r2 O$ G" O: r5 W
· Attend and manage Special Events 6 ^% L G! j. S
· Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee % F6 U6 k( l( x. P# e. J2 M

Duties: Volunteer Coordination
- d& C* M- m5 u. ?1 z& s$ ^& W: p7 jAssist in developing and implementing a volunteer program:
6 ]( Q. k5 e4 E4 ]· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions 6 j8 l& @) V1 _% @3 ?2 j( L
· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers ' Y9 X. M1 w* A! G& Q' Z
· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers / `/ z; o6 F: Y% A, W
· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers
0 ], j$ \0 A* I! X$ A· Complete program administration, statistics and records

· Completion of 12th
5 G: O3 @' f1 r: k" p Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation
" u W' Q% G; V0 ?Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent. . d% I! G/ k4 U, |/ Y. J9 Y0 {
· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct
9 Q1 \* Y1 w% Lexperience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events
; j6 K8 k7 E" ?# I9 }· Experience working with and managing volunteers $ F: c) C$ G; m& M6 P$ o% j
· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors

· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training

Hours: Flexible – some evening and weekend work

Wages: $16 - $20/hour depending on qualifications
