5 k+ ?9 u F8 D! v% U# @Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events:
0 l0 c, e: S% Z; ~7 M# y· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee 9 y; X/ F+ M I$ o3 h
· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist " F k8 A- [* E* X2 ~" Q6 ^& ]
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the 4 u& o7 T8 G* j( Z4 @4 F! s
advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure
. w8 Y& B2 q) \1 i# h9 |set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events. 2 H- J7 A$ s9 X9 V& v7 w" G: p" ?
· Attend and manage Special Events
7 U( o4 u' _% t3 w1 A8 k3 q· Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee 7 l2 R2 f5 B! o
/ P, W3 a' p, M1 u" `. [+ h: ^Duties: Volunteer Coordination + x6 Y1 E: L0 z2 f& d
Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program:
& p' ?% W5 Y7 O, S, f" m! P+ X· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions $ [+ U% {0 J( q
· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers 1 S. @; s8 I4 `0 v
· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers
) L4 N l& n- I2 x3 ^· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers 3 w2 x: ]6 U# E2 g# ?0 t! G1 U
· Complete program administration, statistics and records
8 v& a" A$ E, b $ i, S4 {0 Q9 `4 H- ~" l, I
Qualifications: * y _6 F* v( v$ A$ j( l# `
· Completion of 12th, ^6 [' s5 }4 w3 p/ O
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation ( k. ^+ \# m4 I+ |, u l6 }
Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent.
0 S& Y/ ]; N8 O! V2 X6 U· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct
$ w) J$ M/ l+ t! a/ O0 J2 Iexperience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events 1 F3 y8 w' T# ^! Z+ Z$ C% h
· Experience working with and managing volunteers 0 w- Q5 X: g9 Q' ~+ z1 ]
· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors
% G+ q) P1 Y4 u1 A· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events
9 t+ S4 l: p$ @5 E, X· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training % L' b$ w4 H" F! ?. W

Hours: Flexible – some evening and weekend work ' Y9 W# k& `, \4 p
7 w( x* q$ {1 s/ E4 |! ]1 DWages: $16 - $20/hour depending on qualifications % \6 D" O5 @' O" O
3-month probation to start
