Events and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to: 8 [) Z5 f5 |0 t7 p: _, r

Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events:
1 L* ^" s! @% f· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee
1 E% ]8 U0 }9 G! k· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist
: D5 z: I: n4 l V/ L4 h! g4 [with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the
) v9 [; d2 Y) N2 D% J8 q% aadvertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure ' ]# a7 E9 B& c$ j5 @6 Q& ]7 u
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events.

· Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee 1 |* R$ P* p7 b# p

# h6 P* z7 Y: {: i- P) A3 BAssist in developing and implementing a volunteer program:
% E7 I" c6 B; T· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions . D% M* h7 ~: n) C5 S; } P
· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers " v1 h4 n# _6 {# N* L4 z
· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers
! |$ ^: I# v. [2 e· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers 3 v$ C" P7 Y& t7 I/ m# O: k+ m
· Complete program administration, statistics and records / ~ R. I7 L3 s5 a' D
: [ ?' I0 ]' r( t, eQualifications: / B8 H6 c3 X- D6 x/ l# g/ g' S
· Completion of 12th e# J$ |0 ]+ R7 i: o4 g/ X
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation
# j/ m$ r& ?" G$ d* i5 tAdministration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent. ( L. R9 x) L" D& P
· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct
5 E( t. Z, R0 F% U7 T4 K/ }experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events # e8 u) p, f7 |" M) w! r
· Experience working with and managing volunteers ( l; ?0 Z% k K
· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors $ G6 r( t) E1 l5 V5 ~7 V
· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events * A v* L* A3 f! {. S6 _
· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training

Hours: Flexible – some evening and weekend work
