Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special

( Q; Y& H4 e$ `2 C- K; `Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events: + e/ v) c) n2 |4 s" u- E+ { z& r
· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee 3 i% k$ v& N9 d; \) p7 Q
· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist 0 P% [$ S4 R6 J0 o3 `5 A" {
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the & `0 D$ O1 J# P4 k4 K6 M7 D/ y2 f! E
advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure ; u* _3 j: U+ P7 p% @! i: w
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events. . p% C4 b; {% Z) ?5 T+ v
· Attend and manage Special Events
) t. k0 ~& B9 F· Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee : P3 T: @6 z7 P3 g

Duties: Volunteer Coordination 0 T' \+ e8 m; _. ]" w8 v
Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program:
8 ~2 z* A0 _0 P. N+ k· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions " E* c+ {' Q9 d$ c. ?2 R5 M3 m" i
· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers
! s! p( ?" `# d N0 e: o" U8 n· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers
/ o+ O6 M- y+ N8 p9 ]5 ~/ u( F' o& u; k· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers % J) F d: i1 m
· Complete program administration, statistics and records
! v" y) o; d; V4 A- W6 T $ u( W ?; z2 G1 V& Y: T! x
Qualifications: 5 \' s) c+ Z- Z- ~1 U
· Completion of 12th
8 N1 b% g/ }; j& p Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation
- [4 G: h$ v+ }5 b }4 v( jAdministration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent.
+ @& I/ J0 K6 A/ T· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct " O+ o+ H7 l9 G0 ?) T& U5 l9 B( O
experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events ! _1 X1 L1 g- z0 B. y- X$ Y
· Experience working with and managing volunteers $ I1 c! j4 q8 p! m/ e7 p \: Z. H
· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors
+ f! |- v7 B. e" |· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events
/ ]3 M' [, a/ E8 [3 m8 H6 p! i· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training

Wages: $16 - $20/hour depending on qualifications
