Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff. + O) S' w) K, b7 [& E3 M

(8 week contract @ 35 hours a week)

Activity Planning and Daily Activity' ]" m7 R: U6 `2 E' o3 u* l
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.! ?. ]+ }( F' e2 e
• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring. $ T( y6 l4 n/ R. Y/ e7 |
• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball, * s4 P3 W" E9 m0 e; |4 n+ o
• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.

• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.4 m5 K/ t( M3 l7 ~( x% X- d

1 s: F+ j- r* T% Y5 A* c• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting l& z. c+ a5 b# i) t0 ]- k) ]" f
• Experience with children3 I2 I' r# Z8 m, x9 [
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth . w" Y$ ?" l% G9 p% C; M: Y
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
) |9 Z1 g5 \4 v7 v: @# M• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
) q# q3 I# ~. X: k* v `1 J• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources# q0 [3 G5 w7 Z8 O
• Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check
9 z, w7 q( @' e, ?. C• Documentation of a clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check
