Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families.  We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff.

4 Multicultural Summer Camp Program Staff
(8 week contract @ 35 hours a week)

( Y! z( y1 ^* cKey Responsibilities Include:
' G7 C0 n9 L5 N+ @* `& I2 {Activity Planning and Daily Activity
/ ?7 T4 B0 W2 P1 s' _, j/ x•        Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their  resilience, relationship building and leadership.
$ L/ d8 x# j4 ]' j1 W6 l•        Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
7 j' \, `. ?# B( J! z& D' y•        Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer  and volleyball,
4 G; s5 h% ^- {) M" P* ~•        Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
' E0 L! b* Y/ ]$ M•        Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
•        Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

7 ]' e- V- f5 W1 ~8 bThe successful candidate will have:
•        The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
, r" W) X1 O& [! K" Y•        Experience with children
•        Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
0 j& C, Z; K9 l( c+ x) n, a•        Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
•        Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
0 W8 u" z0 @4 d" U4 O- M•        Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
•        Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check  
•        Documentation of a  clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check

In addition to an excellent work environment, The Africa Centre & Big Brothers Big Sisters offer an hourly salary of $15-hour .
