Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families.  Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff.

. }, W- p5 e6 N5 s3 I9 s3 v2 Multicultural Summer Camp Program Students
2 b5 _* u. Z" T* q: I4 |0 D+ G( \3 P(10 week @ 35 hours a week contract. Must be returning to school)

Key Responsibilities Include
! l6 H3 C  O/ Y) K% t$ mActivity Planning and Daily Activity
% a* o2 A# S8 L, z•        Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their  resilience, relationship building and leadership.
( E$ f2 k  B* n( t•        Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
2 K6 S* m+ G" z1 @7 `$ I) q•        Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer  and volleyball,
5 k/ e8 ]. Y% B" M. P6 @$ A•        Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
•        Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
% P, Q, o% Z/ O. I7 {% z•        Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

0 l- W+ g0 K; UThe successful candidate will have:
8 T& [! w! x% D4 n0 O•        The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
•        Experience with children
•        Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
•        Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
) c/ X5 ]$ ^" k( V- o/ k' f# R•        Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
5 D" `# v5 y$ U: ~. |•        Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
. g* w% \+ ~! ~0 C0 X% M. f•        A clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check  
% i" O+ p( i3 o+ L5 s- Y& t•        A clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check

In addition to an excellent work environment, The Africa Centre & Big Brothers Big Sisters offer an hourly salary of $15-hour .
