Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families.  Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff.

2 Multicultural Summer Camp Program Students
3 p# W0 h3 |) s9 s& m  d(10 week @ 35 hours a week contract. Must be returning to school)

Key Responsibilities Include
Activity Planning and Daily Activity
9 O6 F- ~. \2 h, R6 }% U) k7 T•        Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their  resilience, relationship building and leadership.
•        Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
•        Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer  and volleyball,
) c( Q0 g6 h& `8 v, d( c3 X: A•        Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
# t7 w$ ^, H* `8 H- q% G•        Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
•        Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

The successful candidate will have:
: i: @1 D  n1 N7 M•        The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
•        Experience with children
•        Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
•        Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
0 n3 ?0 X. K9 {6 V. A+ d6 O•        Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
•        Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
3 ]/ G6 z: c: l6 ?* b•        A clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check  
•        A clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check
