. t9 n3 s8 F1 e" s0 QBig Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff.

(10 week @ 35 hours a week contract. Must be returning to school)* `; H! Q# B' t: s( q* l
H' I6 ^/ m w* JKey Responsibilities Include
! X; Y+ j! a8 h9 Y( E% z XActivity Planning and Daily Activity
# g9 ^) y0 [' e' q4 O• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.
" n7 q7 }+ a }: x9 S• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
8 \; _7 U2 \; B( N" t& t• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
2 W4 W* Y1 Z3 B: ] f' z- H* w3 U• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.6 d0 G0 {+ V$ Q/ `5 j% `3 U
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
; E2 n" x6 i B4 W• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

/ k$ Y1 k0 |0 V6 @' {) \$ ]The successful candidate will have:, z% J9 K3 i( f; R" ~4 `4 s
• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting8 Y: \1 e( B& Y/ ~
• Experience with children: b0 g- l8 w% d5 p
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
7 ~; H' _! G$ f• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.$ ? [0 z E, s2 K p8 u1 @& e
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
( }$ g/ t' U+ N! `• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
9 w( V" g2 U0 q0 x% d0 `" l• A clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check
