$ w# n" X6 ~8 U* y oBig Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff. * l0 i e/ _, g; ^. F

(10 week @ 35 hours a week contract. Must be returning to school)

Activity Planning and Daily Activity' V" r9 t6 @: P) K7 @3 V
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.9 q- e; O% f9 [# }8 [& Y
• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
5 ?/ c3 R$ |0 B, V% I& V• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
, j o1 N# v% s• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
" U' B) O' h" O+ G1 N/ M3 x% E/ C- ~• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.. f) d2 c7 U& |% k* w2 O6 b
• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
3 G" g/ ^7 L' o/ z4 y% C• Experience with children
+ \6 m/ y" L) u+ R• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
- o1 N' M" a$ [0 |% W2 T% z• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
5 z! u+ x; M* [- o1 m- i• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.

• A clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check 7 v" a. w, w( M9 a* m/ v4 ?1 Z" w
• A clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check ; P& Q' u8 |5 w* J4 ~1 N4 r

In addition to an excellent work environment, The Africa Centre & Big Brothers Big Sisters offer an hourly salary of $15-hour .
