Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff. ' v& U- j6 z+ m' E; _9 N. H0 @

Key Responsibilities Include
! l6 H3 C O/ Y) K% t$ mActivity Planning and Daily Activity
% a* o2 A# S8 L, z• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.
( E$ f2 k B* n( t• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
2 K6 S* m+ G" z1 @7 `$ I) q• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
5 k/ e8 ]. Y% B" M. P6 @$ A• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants." f; g6 d1 L4 v5 V: q" S4 m5 U
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
% P, Q, o% Z/ O. I7 {% z• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

8 T& [! w! x% D4 n0 O• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting7 i3 _. Y+ J% E) N
• Experience with children2 |$ B0 r1 T6 e5 N3 K8 X- S5 m" c
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth ; k1 q- U8 Y8 `& J l2 L
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
) c/ X5 ]$ ^" k( V- o/ k' f# R• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
