動人心弦的小男孩 (Little Boy Touches Hearts)

I was walking around in a Target store, when I saw a Cashier hand this little boy some money back.% ~, b+ p. S* ?( W
我在「塔杰」商店閒逛時,看到收銀員將一些錢退還給小男孩。( K5 i* B! k. U3 P9 E2 ^' V4 S

4 E9 a- _) U7 [0 R8 gThe boy couldn ' t have been more than 5 or 6 years old.

The Cashier said, ' I ' m sorry, but you don ' t have enough money to buy this doll. '4 J, c2 L- \1 h! R; {3 I

, E  i9 f; p0 h" O/ aThen the little boy turned to the old woman next to him: ' ' Granny,
3 P8 s& f/ T# I% x2 Y) ~% x5 hare you sure I don ' t have enough money? ' '

The old lady replied: ' ' You know that you don ' t have enough money to buy this doll, my dear. ' '

& R  G" v3 ^, \Then she asked him to stay there for just 5 minutes while she went to look around. She left quickly.

She was sure that Santa Claus would bring it to her. '

2 ^+ z% T1 J) ?% s1 XI replied to him that maybe Santa Claus would bring it to her after all, and not to worry.

But he replied to me sadly. ' No, Santa Claus can ' t bring it to her where she is now. I have to give the doll to my mommy so that she can give it to my sister when she goes there. '

My heart nearly stopped.

5 b% h8 O9 e% a+ fThe little boy looked up at me and said: ' I told daddy to tell mommy not to go yet. I need her to wait until I come back from the mall. '+ Y7 U7 l; L0 Z" ~) A+ g% ^8 p8 s
小男孩看我說:『我叫爸爸告訴媽媽現在不要走,讓她等我從購物中心回來。』

Then he showed me a very nice photo of himself. He was laughing. He then told me ' I want mommy to take my picture with her so she won ' t forget me. '" q- w3 S" N7 U8 F! m9 q0 E

Then he looked again at the doll with sad eyes, very quietly.0 X/ a; G- k* V, Y

I quickly reached for my wallet and said to the boy. ' Suppose we check again, just in case you do have enough money for the doll! ' '. P8 e- p3 \& u; K. C
我趕緊摸著錢包對小男孩說『我們再檢查一下,說不定您有足夠的錢買玩偶! 』( q4 o1 q7 Q% r* w$ B/ W$ k* s

'OK ' he said, ' I hope I do have enough. ' I added some of my money to his without him seeing and we started to count it. There was enough for the doll and even some spare money.1 A3 G& O$ L' q+ k& Q
『好呀!』他說『我希望有足夠的錢』。沒讓他看見,我塞了一些錢到他的錢包中,我們開始數錢。買娃娃的錢足 了,甚之還有剩餘呢。

! y$ F: H6 b! [* M$ e. YThe little boy said: ' Thank you God for giving me enough money! '

Then he looked at me and added, ' I asked last night before I went to sleep for God to make sure I had enough money to buy this doll, so that mommy could give it to my sister. He heard me! ' '

A few minutes later, the old lady returned and I left with my basket.

I finished my shopping in a totally different state of mind from when I started.1 |  ]) K& S' Y

I couldn ' t get the little boy out of my mind.) f7 ]' L  M+ c& c1 G

Then I remembered a local news paper article two days ago, which mentioned a drunk man in a truck, who hit a car occupied by a young6 c2 h7 A: |4 N( f* w2 b5 y
woman and a little girl.
( U. S8 R' f+ E. E: J我想起兩天前當地報紙的一篇文章,提及一位醉酒卡車司機,撞上了一輛載著年輕少婦和一個小女孩的汽車。4 d) w$ O5 p; p- `' j* l6 o- p: l

9 a# ^" @$ p# h8 ]  m# FThe little girl died right away, and the mother was left in a critical
9 p, T! [$ C0 p3 x. Wstate. The family had to decide whether to pull the plug on the; O+ f3 e6 O* ~
life-sustaining machine, because the young woman would not be able to recover from the coma.
- g  a; M* U8 ]& `- b& J小女孩當場死亡,母親呈現彌留狀態。 這個家庭必須決定是否要拔出維持生命機器的插管

: i* N9 p8 R, ~& I2 o0 VI couldn ' t stop myself as I bought a bunch of white roses and I went to the funeral home where the body of the young woman was for people to see and make last wishes before her burial.
0 ~, [( s6 S& u% E! c' q我不自主的買了一束白玫瑰,來到喪家,年輕少婦的遺體在她埋葬前讓人瞻仰與最後許願。
0 q# R* M- `8 S- m3 N  E
; U4 [5 ?5 [5 a* b1 y5 @: }$ yShe was there, in her coffin, holding a beautiful white rose in her hand with the photo of the little boy and the doll placed over her chest.
) W; Q( a, x. [' G她在那裡,裝在棺木中,在她的手中握著一朵白玫瑰和小男孩的相片,娃娃則放置在她的胸口。

% [  w& ]" C3 F- ]I left the place, teary-eyed, feeling that my life had been changed for ever.. The love that the little boy had for his mother and his sister is
) j* K! u, s4 \7 r9 [( h3 R8 @: Y" [( ^still, to this day, hard to imagine.
+ H1 ?+ F- F* H& _2 }- F2 L我離開了這裡,眼淚奪眶而出,覺得我的人生已經永遠改變了。至今,小男孩對他母親和妹妹的愛,仍然難以想像。

And in a fraction of a second, a drunk driver had taken all this away from him.  p& G3 w2 Y" r, K4 Q

对自己负责。对别人负责,对社会负责,请勿酒后驾车。因为这个小男孩有可能成为你家的孩子。
