summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
1 D5 ]5 v2 m3 O/ z. |) Ysupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
+ t' g3 d/ J6 S8 C( t' |Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
% D- Q# i4 E: A: A0 T8 G4 [emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
7 E, }" e6 H$ U! D' Y& d5 I4 |1 g- Qand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
8 d% X4 {3 _# D8 R  R, F) V  i  {resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
/ @: b  |4 K( [& xscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

# M( m0 n8 m, c$ D+ P, {Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
! _1 G/ X& G. a. z/ QFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

/ \. D. v: r! v3 n- L1 n3 A+ k- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
2 d6 A; a3 o: X% P7 H6 ?- Implement a catalogue template for future use
" B( L( s3 [; G6 ~  k. M" ^- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
2 r( A" ^* y. H  k- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

) ^( G0 A5 M; d- H5 z- ]6 V- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program
(STEP)
- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training, university preferred
9 x* L9 F: T7 I7 Q& S8 M- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
7 I. h9 W6 r  {  b1 }# u+ }- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

# q7 g9 w4 ^. v) q* IQualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
% s/ N4 P& u; l/ }/ I# O) y& Q( Y% V* K- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
' |( p/ P- M# F7 O0 o) z( D- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
0 o. r% M" R, }: ^7 g- Strong team player abilities
2 V9 v& G4 O3 i- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors

I have already sent an e-mail to ed@fava.ca but got nothing confirming receipt of my application...
I have 3 years librarian expeirence in U of A, and believe I can fit in this postion perfectly.
