FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
% N0 d$ n- O; Y2 L; o7 ]( X( B( ysummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
* U* S1 @% n% H% N. H* Gsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern 7 H. o7 H3 M9 v* z2 g! A# s

and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 8 Z* ]3 a: M# K" ]$ q) Q9 u+ H) c1 P
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and

* K$ N) J8 E0 y6 N0 J9 nJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
/ V @7 C9 b& s+ J$ RFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
" D/ v% i3 ^- C; dwell as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties: 9 _3 r! |# e& R! f
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library ! c% }+ a+ T3 f
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
' {! `. ?% ^# Z% H+ n1 D- Implement a catalogue template for future use 7 v1 k7 y* R: K/ t, o0 y
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure 5 G8 I+ Y6 n. r- r9 m' p& [1 I
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable / Q' [& ?' R' N5 r6 U8 x) j

( B4 c* T4 q+ y: X- G8 T- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
% v/ v1 U9 `4 P. h8 O1 W6 T, l" v- Strong organizational skills 5 O3 \' E/ R; v7 U# B1 L6 u
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred 3 Q5 p0 I" r* t2 ~# x9 l& m( b$ S
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal 5 \4 S8 L. \" f0 B+ Y3 X
- Strong team player abilities 0 J" o: L: f+ k0 k5 n
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
