FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the 3 p. f% M1 }1 U0 _; `9 O
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from

screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

) C3 O$ {/ L. h9 N7 |8 p. b* PJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
. ^5 x1 V- {& _3 U% P. J' aFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
% L- D* g& _) O' q2 \) _3 pwell as the script, magazine and book library. ! Z$ y0 `5 L. l' {5 r7 J& `( V
- a/ f, D1 ]4 H3 B* ]Duties: H, c4 Z2 e$ {9 M
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
* Q! h$ q" V3 O! e; v+ r; [- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books 6 v& w6 s# O8 r; [, n- F
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
$ Y" u5 r$ w. Y, `. h% s' ~- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
+ ]. h8 h5 r/ l3 J; r- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable ) g* l# a; q, t8 o9 k) _

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: 6 @" b- Q1 y' |3 v9 I7 Y
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts ! a5 W( s( L. r8 F. ^. n* y
- Strong organizational skills
- e" c; c/ S) i- Experience or training in library sciences preferred ' b: q* |8 K; [' T1 a
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal 6 Z6 H( P6 J* e. g) T' d1 g
- Strong team player abilities
