support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern ' W! ?% K f1 K" `: p# S+ @! M
Alberta.

and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a ( I, M7 i& j; l- _/ ], m% T
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
! f* b7 b: ^5 ?' n$ t; a# Xscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

# {7 S4 s+ f0 g$ ^- ZJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the % s$ y. Y. |9 V# u3 O X5 I
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as & Y" Z- W* x7 n7 q% }; `- u
well as the script, magazine and book library. ; O, N0 t9 u% C- c" M

Duties:
" D- E& h2 M+ Y x6 o! m- r- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library 7 T& `5 J- a! \ ~
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
7 c' r& c. J* [, q7 T- Implement a catalogue template for future use 8 v- q$ J' N1 @5 f# N/ U
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
6 T0 u+ D" g- g& m# X- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-0 r2 ~( N- d0 l" G# D
secondary training, university preferred 0 s1 `% j, T! `: i# ]
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week ; \' ^) j( e( P3 C6 F1 j) M. l+ e1 c+ j
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
$ h& B- I# M6 O% V8 a7 a+ N3 k" n& {- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts ' T" N+ N% A% ^) S0 \; b
- Strong organizational skills ]7 Z3 G/ \. U# N
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
