  x2 Y: c" f* x6 ZFAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
) A5 X$ T: N* c2 Gsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
1 ^4 f6 j4 a( Y; w) w5 J; d& d4 o3 uand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
( M$ J" P8 a! v& _( z( z0 `resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
0 s# Z8 {! |& J) H5 J; v4 `well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties:
' x4 t) x/ W! b# e% [- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
$ |, D, p/ ]5 ?, s- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program
(STEP)
- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
secondary training, university preferred
, m3 E8 _7 H/ j. `: `- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
2 L+ g+ D: f5 i2 P1 O5 T5 K- Strong organizational skills
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
6 W" `& k# j- B- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal  
- Strong team player abilities
  h6 U, s$ L$ L8 @  s5 L- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
