* p' `4 D! ]" @FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization j+ w9 n8 L) u; {- V+ z7 q& ~6 `0 f
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media

7 B; J8 \" M' R' X& ]' m& m( fFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
0 {: j& Q/ B# V$ d8 D4 K6 m, D. `emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
" y) ^+ f5 ~4 q2 h7 X% [and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a

screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
6 }1 l. D2 O, m4 VDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by : E) n) ~: x( \: i0 b
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. + [7 G( l1 k7 O W4 X

Duties: $ D& Q1 T7 S$ o
- Assist with research on acquisition grants @% q7 [5 ], S! _' A
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
0 `6 S$ s8 t: }, f E- Assist with equipment maintenance 4 G# s3 D1 T% X
- Assist with production logistics for programming events " Q* F: p3 A, V0 Z
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff 7 d1 ^- ]/ w; O% j. L2 P3 w
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable ( ]+ [6 F/ b1 b' t6 H; e
- Provide vacation relief 6 a+ ?- A+ b+ F0 \2 E

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:

- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment / P& T! v5 f: [3 a9 H
- Advance organizational and research skills
/ R5 k3 i6 Z: D8 K& e2 u$ U) ~) S! b- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
6 O9 t3 M: ^6 e- Strong team player abilities
