FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization 1 b& J. z/ _2 K6 c' X
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media

$ ?) a/ x7 L4 X6 _( @and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a ) h, v4 s2 U9 D; g6 v8 e: T
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and ; H" d r# ^+ {( @6 c6 {5 b' o- i' m
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
9 U6 D& I1 O7 H: mDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
. M6 d7 e6 ?; P- u4 U, Yassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. 2 e; \2 @: I4 d

Duties:
1 C1 A6 {- K9 I+ r- Assist with research on acquisition grants , U s7 N; d) s+ ~3 h* O8 h
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
: s+ h9 T# C$ U1 b! r9 m3 _- Assist with equipment maintenance
- ?- B% c |2 F) Q6 v4 Q9 k! e s) u- Assist with production logistics for programming events
0 _6 j R6 p, \! W$ c7 w- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff % K7 \8 B t7 m+ r4 B
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable - I" v3 n7 d( F
- Provide vacation relief + @3 ?& t$ s, K

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment , k+ Q4 B% O9 Q' [: X
- Advance organizational and research skills

- Strong team player abilities
