FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 7 r/ g- I! }7 s' A) n8 i+ d
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
7 r! y+ U5 A- t% F& s! N0 uand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
" j* y3 d/ ^* }8 Q! vresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 8 Y0 s# C. U/ S8 x% k+ _ A
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

. o' L. {5 [9 V, \. \Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive " L, F% \/ L B0 Z9 N
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
, o# ] q1 O$ E; u& k& S6 ?assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. 4 Z: } y) n H6 i" {- P. j* `+ y
% W5 J m5 ]9 X8 }6 E
Duties:
6 u9 g, d" n7 M6 `5 @& m- Assist with research on acquisition grants
. y, \1 G* D' E+ @8 r0 E3 ~- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities ' j R& ?, z' X2 [
- Assist with equipment maintenance
; O% n/ O M4 N# M+ J9 g- Assist with production logistics for programming events ( Q; ]1 t! l( m0 x5 w
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
. b: _" {5 m: V; V7 \: q- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 4 L/ m5 F) ] ~+ j- j
- Provide vacation relief

- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment , q1 P0 @( J% Y! D Q
- Advance organizational and research skills 1 G1 _! }1 V. b. h2 V
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
( z& ]( E& m M# p8 ]. l$ ~2 B2 o- Strong team player abilities
