" o( V( }# H, z h) OFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
) u8 X$ f H/ N1 awhose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media ! _/ W. g0 E9 ^; s" M; f
artists from Northern Alberta. / t" D1 F/ z; v$ V7 }

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
& \1 }9 _9 d! H% zemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 0 ]* L" z' s# X# X/ U' p8 F, X; N
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
8 m. Z; s+ T9 [$ b# ?2 l3 |resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
2 m2 c8 p9 O% N! o6 \screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 1 i5 x& u4 B o$ n* H7 q

+ e5 W0 z |; H d' y; T0 nJob Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive 5 k: U6 R/ [* t' t# a2 I) A" C
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
T5 l( q% y0 k+ Sassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. - B# i5 L6 y% p5 k N' h2 N0 m* x
/ f. }" I* M6 ?" A! ]& d! [Duties: 7 Z6 I# H4 U; M6 Q) @
- Assist with research on acquisition grants
5 h- ~/ g; W, P9 t8 H. M% s; h- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities 8 `0 @6 P' V3 c' t) g+ Y
- Assist with equipment maintenance 5 s6 E8 Z& N1 D8 p& `* [
- Assist with production logistics for programming events 2 U2 T- V) V$ V! ^
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff # w; }8 O9 M- V; q2 B; h, c5 Q1 {! F7 N
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-6 g( {, f% f9 c# V6 T" C
secondary training
! M* c8 F, v5 u" u' q- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts ) ^: Z) N0 |$ N* u$ l
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
* m! ?; C) N. i4 P6 H4 m- {- Advance organizational and research skills

- Strong team player abilities
