FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization

emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
$ o' j4 r) @6 X7 aand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a p- m, r( `9 o# D2 q1 `
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and & C9 q1 z. B ~( X+ `2 A% Y2 [- v
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern * y5 b: _8 e M" g( T

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
6 T4 @) ]* _. F- m, q1 sDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by I3 G' ?- L1 N6 q* c- \
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. Q( [/ f2 ~! h/ J- k% @
0 C# r9 {3 m6 L2 f( k. N4 T$ VDuties:
" U5 G, _9 j5 ~+ ?1 ^0 A' B7 r- e- Assist with research on acquisition grants
+ O7 U' X( `/ j7 `: d) p9 A: B! g- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
5 e5 ?7 J5 K+ T/ M# X5 L& }' D- Assist with equipment maintenance - [+ j1 W X0 m5 ]
- Assist with production logistics for programming events " u) | u! R4 p" m6 `
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
2 e5 d" u+ E+ X6 _0 W" [- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

secondary training

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: ; K* k4 U+ ~+ T$ v
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts 4 {, x1 V7 r" E/ C5 W
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment 2 G4 t1 }0 ^* z" r0 b3 R
- Advance organizational and research skills
- p1 S! V/ S1 P6 J# y- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
) ^, j' \, K* E$ Q: y- Strong team player abilities 0 S& T9 x& u0 V3 a6 N/ N
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
