Position title: Community Development Worker

Job Description
- O' M5 ?! U. f' q* D v$ I# q- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to # k G& H4 C$ o/ ?! o4 t1 s/ l% _3 f
provide services for Chinese community
; F2 e& O! v; m! c- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
4 Z, g! D6 b* k access to mainstream services
: a5 l1 O6 V0 E V1 K- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of 0 a# a* M s; C; q
social services
! H. s; n% c# v% b M- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
l9 F9 W Y" b6 F- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members. g/ k5 _" K) m, \$ r
- update ASSIST website4 x; M# I3 ?( H4 f0 U* @3 d- C
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
1 Z' {$ x; {6 o/ g: c# W1 H& P' o6 \( C- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services+ S0 F, r7 z+ B
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time* N4 I( a7 x5 I) F

- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

7 S0 |' Y! H3 f2 @8 h- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of 0 O0 `0 E9 y+ X% o6 q( `2 U
experience and education 6 _/ I$ _6 O9 V0 f
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills P7 V9 P% Y& L5 ^9 T+ v: U+ K, u
- experience in community work and immigrant services
* y* r+ a5 ?6 u# z0 x- experience in website update/design4 N Z0 [3 d8 h; e ?; w& Y' @
- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
