Position title: Community Development Worker
3 P6 {+ b8 K6 sTerm: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
) }3 ~! S$ h9 x( ~6 W provide services for Chinese community
' P# d* ^. Y6 m; \: L- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population

8 `1 y; D/ D: j( |- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
2 p) i% i- t% `8 {' U5 N! p social services
2 L! f" c7 g6 n" m. z0 M- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
* Z- L- r1 g- q7 E# I, F- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
2 R3 S0 [) l' I1 L- G: W- update ASSIST website
+ B' l- r, L, U; {- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre6 R; v; n& Z; h9 L3 h
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services0 e, X4 q7 n! c
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time. ~ A' G N# K" G9 _ n+ S: V

- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

5 P0 X& ]7 I. ZQualifications
% H* V J, U- o" i! e# t- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of 5 ]$ s& x1 p' q( T
experience and education
( c7 I0 I" q" H9 N0 O0 U; R9 @- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
) L1 r4 v6 u" S0 D+ f6 Q3 n% a* ?3 F- experience in community work and immigrant services+ M9 S1 h8 }! B
- experience in website update/design
* I- @) |& E5 e- p0 S- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
