Position title: Community Development Worker
Term: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)
Job Description
& O3 \% {! ^5 F; g-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
        provide services for Chinese community
-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
        access to mainstream services
) h. g$ s, a8 ^) S' N-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
        social services
9 I& {+ e% i, N! \  |$ a-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
* s9 `5 J. w: e1 u& M-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
2 c& N( v9 A, p# m% p-        update ASSIST website
-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
6 k6 y/ A6 @/ O& o- F7 i" ?0 p# A1 \-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
! n/ O) r; q) ^. u-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
-        update membership database
# g+ x: j' r! _, C0 d-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
$ X* e+ U# ?4 L+ V-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
1 {+ f9 D! S2 x2 n% d        experience and education
% G" `5 C0 m6 t+ Z( e% |) E-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
-        experience in community work and immigrant services
-        experience in website update/design
-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
