Position title: Community Development Worker

Job Description

provide services for Chinese community+ J/ p2 T4 ?6 a. c7 e0 Q9 d j
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
! p8 c5 _# I! d access to mainstream services
. w% A) d# a& o* m |6 U) _3 i- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of + V6 F3 l- I8 {" ]: @
social services
_4 J; u3 k' @, k( {5 ^- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies6 R9 h+ J+ Y- H' w1 K; K Y
- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
; k1 P) t) R6 Y* X( F- update ASSIST website
" ^8 N. O) P. I1 L. c+ M- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre9 }7 C7 N- c9 ?% c3 B9 R
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
8 z0 B8 h( p$ N, S6 E4 }' o8 I- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

! J; v' U5 H1 n' @' z O9 y# T: v: J- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
( M% `% `" Q7 x$ D experience and education / X5 }* X: N1 g/ A; q0 t4 E! Q
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
: T: \! s7 `/ v, ?7 ^9 ]- K- experience in community work and immigrant services( T2 p) q$ A- C
- experience in website update/design
' r$ f" [5 X0 p4 r7 [- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
