Position title: Community Development Worker ( L, K& z6 S; G3 _

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
1 s: e' l o9 b provide services for Chinese community
* E/ l. D' H9 T$ r; t! Z- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population ) X: _" T! ^( r9 {
access to mainstream services
# i8 L( _8 J' C9 z" n- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
/ s, s. \5 L7 O# q+ y+ }4 M social services; x0 y* f( C* u" @, E2 a9 d$ c! W
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies* _- K6 p2 a! R
- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members( J4 R% h5 r/ R# _" E
- update ASSIST website2 d, u6 ?. F3 a9 x5 \+ I
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre& h/ G4 W- n+ h/ w3 Q' i7 U
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
; ?/ L$ P% \! ~3 _& d0 ?6 w3 Q- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
8 h- r8 U5 n6 \7 P: i2 H- update membership database% E; @2 l* Q+ O) Z! o
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
: w0 i# u: f* v- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
! h7 O0 `% t( @3 W% O0 t experience and education ; K: B* u( A+ S' W% n& S
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
# v& {4 P- U+ ?& {- experience in community work and immigrant services
& z2 C* d O$ C. ?& f" x3 c3 Q+ p M- experience in website update/design1 U5 O. {+ X$ B! n4 y& T, \$ v
- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
