Position title: Community Development Worker

Job Description
% A8 x& r/ Z7 T- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to + ]5 O9 G2 z4 O
provide services for Chinese community# e+ F- Y+ d3 ~$ O2 P, G
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population & G' s# D. ]% u% {
access to mainstream services
* Q! \2 I; w- Z( P2 f7 d& s. L: x- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
* _% R E( A& T% w. s% G9 U social services( U# C- `( J' ` O6 h: I5 h
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
2 g$ x" h; ~. G& X5 l' d- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members& S2 _( \5 A4 B* \( i
- update ASSIST website; \# A# N8 y2 z+ N+ C
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre s4 D' M0 e% P. ~# r+ c. j
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services4 v# I" e4 l; M
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

Qualifications
% L" T/ `! V' U( `- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of ) j: ^8 X: r( o+ a
experience and education
% b5 z( T) W: m! d+ Q& C+ b8 m. V$ G- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
1 ^, l" g1 e2 O( _0 b- experience in community work and immigrant services
2 d8 D3 k6 [6 _1 d, N9 X& e1 ]5 m- experience in website update/design9 d+ o# G; G0 {4 t5 |- t
- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
