Position title: Community Development Worker
- a* Q- ]7 K' HTerm: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)
Job Description
-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
; b  [1 d0 g* k        provide services for Chinese community
. n/ e; ?5 z& W0 r% A6 U-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
+ ]- g- ]: ?3 C* l: `6 m        access to mainstream services
-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
  S9 J$ _- M" v9 ^1 \% _        social services
-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
( ~7 P: c6 L7 Y) P4 I-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
6 k' g  u/ X8 ?7 _# L+ V-        update ASSIST website
-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
9 T. u. s; [" c# O& u-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
$ a! k- }: D# e& D' |, l-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
: W# z4 n+ {9 ], k* Q$ O-        update membership database
-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

1 t# [, c1 p' m. ^-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
- j. s' m& \0 {! F! d        experience and education
% T! Y% v1 L! R( D-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
% b6 f4 w5 k; S) C- d-        experience in community work and immigrant services
# d2 C, e' z% p" g# f( e-        experience in website update/design
-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
