Position title: Community Development Worker
5 W- ]$ W2 @# K  w( q- {" _! UTerm: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)
Job Description
1 Q2 [$ Z, M' f, q- f- O9 x-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
$ r8 g; |! N; ~4 D" R        provide services for Chinese community
6 s' E6 N9 O8 ?+ f6 u4 D-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
1 Y( z. ]( z: P3 L3 G; K        access to mainstream services
-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
        social services
-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
-        update ASSIST website
-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
-        update membership database
-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
7 g' |' ^2 n$ O# I$ j3 Z* s' H-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
6 z! k4 q* b6 j8 h6 I        experience and education
-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
-        experience in community work and immigrant services
' g/ u4 X5 z+ r3 }5 H; }-        experience in website update/design
-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
