Position title: Community Development Worker
5 y! p  q4 g- DTerm: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)
Job Description
5 g7 U, m/ g) r& k8 i-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
        provide services for Chinese community
3 U$ Q0 G8 G: Z: A5 e-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
        access to mainstream services
7 U+ x! O' P% {6 Q  }, f-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
' R; y* E7 U0 m* K# {        social services
-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
$ U! g+ [3 W+ t- V: Y+ J4 ]$ r-        update ASSIST website
/ t  f! `3 X2 E-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
-        update membership database
, W$ d/ f8 h" m-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
( B3 O# I3 e, T7 }        experience and education
1 p2 F; Z' i/ j0 n9 C5 ?-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
-        experience in community work and immigrant services
7 \) E/ w- Q/ B3 h7 M/ Z: h-        experience in website update/design
-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
