Position title: Community Development Worker

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to

- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
" t* W; ]) s9 X" H) Y access to mainstream services
. G3 X, U4 o# @+ u% m- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
: M* B9 Z: R2 h7 X9 Y" i social services
8 ^0 Q* B1 S; M5 {- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies$ B( N/ D1 H0 r, N7 w
- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
2 W0 T& S2 Y7 U# z9 ]& d- update ASSIST website3 h; X1 g% ]2 }. J v. S! j
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
* `; O0 }9 B& I' V& `1 O2 @- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services) ]; `- q3 _2 `, j+ k5 v3 F0 g, I1 d i
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time2 o, w% B* B; m% ~6 F
- update membership database
' x" Y3 \$ q P/ o k- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
* s% R- O6 ?# a- |* V- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
: E1 d/ o9 a+ s' r. d+ B9 h experience and education 3 ], W! H5 t* s
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills& d* b! |$ `* s3 Q
- experience in community work and immigrant services
, N, j+ @2 V5 H8 L0 c* b f" O8 K2 r2 x- experience in website update/design
& s R; Y$ m* R: j* }( [5 V- Q w- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
