Position title: Community Development Worker

provide services for Chinese community; u! l- x) K! s1 U4 x
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
+ ^ B G0 X, _ access to mainstream services
" M, W* B' |1 K; C/ ]" O/ n- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of / o9 [3 y; d8 b4 j9 Y8 ]4 M+ u
social services
) ^+ k X+ E& e1 w& `- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
_* s8 {' k9 e) p9 }# M- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members9 {$ k4 Q/ t5 h9 O8 W9 W
- update ASSIST website; R7 h& n' o/ K4 i" C8 h
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre' n9 B- t3 a# t/ C& z
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
4 m) b4 k3 o+ W& Y1 A, E' b- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

Qualifications
. X; X) ]+ X" R) u" |, j9 U3 ~# n- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of 5 t% Y: c/ T% \2 l& n$ B9 }
experience and education ; ~! L9 ]& U" f
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
6 U) V, ~8 I* D8 y- experience in community work and immigrant services6 r1 j" \. q5 z. n0 p! X* Y
- experience in website update/design
6 |; Q" x6 Z* }# C* m: C* B- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
