Position title: Community Development Worker
Term: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)

. d0 X# w" Q- w# t& E! H0 i9 r0 M-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
        provide services for Chinese community
-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
        access to mainstream services
1 t3 G7 l0 {$ {$ n0 I( S-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
  A! G) x9 e( ~2 S. {( q( M$ L        social services
-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
  E/ J+ R9 U: Z4 }! j0 I-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
& h+ ~1 C- J2 r# A1 `( j3 u; Y-        update ASSIST website
6 t. `  z1 `) f6 @1 B0 e-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
1 _  T) Z; t/ a  M/ D1 \& Q-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
-        update membership database
8 L8 n# G( J5 E# r, I" B* t" W-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
, M* Q" P: C0 d) v1 m+ L        experience and education
-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
-        experience in community work and immigrant services
; F- v# v. ]- C5 k$ U-        experience in website update/design
-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
