Position title: Community Development Worker

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to , |5 t% T. C" e: o
provide services for Chinese community
9 }6 }9 G0 F! \) U- H0 r- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
% @0 @* i5 g& x& Q2 Z8 L4 g access to mainstream services
0 h$ o9 X: i- K) F+ { Y- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of / w* z! d! \6 A
social services
% g$ y4 J: v* Y0 ?- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
3 q! p$ v5 {/ z5 d- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members8 G; B3 Y) n. z t0 R: |
- update ASSIST website) @' ~9 a' e/ F8 C8 P" K8 k
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
( @3 h! V; p; I7 `. L0 t" I- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services

- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications D: L: O+ f9 g* O
- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of ! e$ k. O) t5 b
experience and education
" \8 c: z) C, r. y( k1 `2 {9 X- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
0 q; z+ {8 d: N9 q) U" Y4 v+ O. M- experience in community work and immigrant services
9 O" W+ M+ U0 M* t! L! P d- experience in website update/design* p* H8 }+ q1 c) i% S& G: t0 N s
- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
