Position title: Community Development Worker

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to 7 X5 a( [1 E A; b9 o. d
provide services for Chinese community: N, L( d, h+ z4 K; M
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population ' i$ ?! v6 I" t8 I. y0 T
access to mainstream services
+ W% S8 c% l" F4 e. @# w* F- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of ( Y* D- d) ~5 v# H: d- P
social services. X8 n/ u, L7 t4 }: ^/ l' P/ p) t5 W
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
) P& R' H4 ^: j1 Q- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
( S9 R: g. [; F4 S6 L$ N- n- update ASSIST website( }+ r9 }. H* I$ V% G
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

& k3 Y0 T% w9 S1 a7 B+ z- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of : {! }# Y% V+ D- s3 s3 A
experience and education
: Q0 {: E- [6 c. \& {- good oral and written Chinese and English skills4 M+ z( @2 Y k& i$ W. @: c
- experience in community work and immigrant services- E: R# M7 O7 P/ l; F; q
- experience in website update/design
3 w: N9 }0 q6 H4 J% p! h; O- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
