Position title: Community Development Worker

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
% i: B0 G4 a: _5 E5 S& W provide services for Chinese community
' w1 V8 o. F* w% p$ z4 Y) a- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population 0 e' l+ _9 `3 L) F2 F! l. x3 A
access to mainstream services( A: O$ H% F$ S( N
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of - x, d S E! |$ e) X
social services0 z7 ]0 r; n5 t( u$ d$ M
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
5 c; f- y y! ~) n7 T# x U0 |- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members. \# w: y( \% g6 _! B
- update ASSIST website
) q6 O# u' i( T$ Y/ R; W9 M- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre9 M8 F1 o1 J- s
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services9 f6 l; s9 Y0 `7 O4 M% _
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time$ q! b: @- U/ A2 j
- update membership database, u& [" o/ Z, V5 b& w, ?& Q4 ^) z5 C
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of

/ ?" ^6 N+ V: K7 Q& @7 r6 ^: d j- good oral and written Chinese and English skills! r5 g" `6 u- m
- experience in community work and immigrant services
* l4 }# |2 {4 ?- experience in website update/design4 s4 e; Y8 e- @2 u
- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset5 j8 |" f$ `( ~: y; F' a) z
