Position title: Community Development Worker
' U5 v5 l, N9 HTerm: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)

- Y7 w) O$ N) [0 D! w1 n2 p4 b" V-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
( K8 F6 n. T0 H* d: o0 e        provide services for Chinese community
-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
3 t! F/ b2 m. ^/ \" I        access to mainstream services
5 g  q' T) Y; t+ U* ^, Z9 E; ?! v-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
9 i2 S: y4 o& d" [        social services
-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
. E# x% O& _+ a) l-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
% D  l; U# w: ~4 T6 A% t0 h-        update ASSIST website
5 B1 X4 S, p! h. W( \-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
, t% r; W* F* V6 V! K+ B! B-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
: Q& S/ Y& c; m( h: g; I-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
-        update membership database
$ u" Z# x8 z0 ]7 s! ^  [5 c-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
        experience and education
-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
# H) S3 G; e1 x& b-        experience in community work and immigrant services
-        experience in website update/design
-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
