Position title: Community Development Worker

0 k. p. e& J+ v3 C' V3 h- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
- c' J6 z& O3 @; m$ r0 a. P" }5 Z provide services for Chinese community6 m' M. o1 M2 H7 P; X! Z) G
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population , S+ j7 \3 ^0 Q+ q) c4 w4 M
access to mainstream services8 x" c @: ^, |9 ? c8 e1 Q
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
: K3 U4 @# ^8 W+ M4 R% R" N social services
/ @' u( n& u" G5 g* T3 }- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
: h/ j2 s; D! t: k! |- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members+ G; c. A, o8 D4 U
- update ASSIST website
/ l/ R# V& T, Y) A4 ~- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre' c0 @; S7 x5 q- v8 p5 L" R
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services! E, R) R# h; x
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time; e; G# u, _8 O4 G' d! ~
- update membership database; L- }- z/ @: c7 R7 f4 e/ g
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)! z- e& |+ s4 e8 j* d2 Z8 B8 v

Qualifications
) l) Y9 r) h4 [- v+ U- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
% n2 @' W% _- K. }3 A5 a4 W, j experience and education % p8 j2 C" q3 c H5 H% @9 ^
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills$ g5 P; n, S) y% g# Y9 F
- experience in community work and immigrant services
- t) d: M0 J2 [ w2 C4 O4 O- experience in website update/design+ A& f- |. }- s' h: C) T2 S5 w5 K
- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset c$ r0 A# G% P* V
