Position title: Community Development Worker

Job Description
. T2 N2 i5 p$ q/ z* e9 y- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
$ ?, r3 z0 s. U' z provide services for Chinese community6 g& O4 j9 Z; d% k4 z8 f* j# G# K
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population 2 {8 p5 m0 @5 k
access to mainstream services
4 i9 M8 b1 p. x6 p5 [- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of - u7 t! }3 Z5 W8 r: ]! t) ~7 `
social services: x5 f) c- ~/ }% m0 X' U% ^
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies: f; K. ^! j( Q9 q1 e3 g8 Y% H* d
- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
5 n( X, C: t/ [$ X0 q8 W! P3 A5 g- update ASSIST website5 g4 _. E" {: U9 \8 [
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre8 T: }! p' u3 p( b- r% B; z! M* `+ v
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services

- update membership database

7 W J3 Y1 U: s# h- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
3 n; y# S1 d; S1 b3 }! E experience and education
: k! X% l/ `0 J* H( C- good oral and written Chinese and English skills9 \) K4 Q8 @+ P3 r! \
- experience in community work and immigrant services
$ S7 u/ A9 h" P- experience in website update/design
4 W: x9 u) w! S; J+ X; I3 J- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
