Position title: Community Development Worker

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
* `3 |, t4 ]8 N! d provide services for Chinese community- t! c' I# k& X# Z: {. f
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
- s! o# K0 S0 c. C access to mainstream services
- w( W# _1 I# |: D- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
9 i0 `9 H0 K2 l; R2 ~$ K8 ~ social services
4 X3 v) ~# }8 Z' Q- w6 h1 v- G- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies* @0 f' s; o6 {
- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
" N) }" n) j m- u4 I- update ASSIST website7 G! B+ O) K. I) L: X4 Z
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre- |& y7 f8 c. z7 g+ Y d
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services4 g* m4 C9 S1 @! @
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
( v5 G. B+ u. r$ W, f- update membership database. _: V n3 ?3 ^8 D3 G+ D5 ?
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)! C P7 n1 _/ s$ K% C* e5 Y$ d, N' ?

Qualifications: n V" l6 R8 R; H3 i
- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
; W V2 i" d1 h. y9 P experience and education
/ h1 C/ a" K; w+ a2 I1 U- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
6 d) k5 y0 E _* F- experience in community work and immigrant services
. w" t$ z) B" V5 { c" ?% n- experience in website update/design+ N2 L; M. F1 m8 V/ z1 \! W
- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
) U; _# a, a W" h6 w% P: R2 Z% t x, D( l2 P" K
