Position title: Community Development Worker

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to _% k" r3 `4 F+ v& B+ ?# R7 p w
provide services for Chinese community
* ^0 e6 P2 X" u+ m; q9 J5 J- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
z) l' [: L# S& I# _2 t) h' W access to mainstream services4 ~3 C. b- A9 _" K, ]0 {* A
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of ; |* D C0 D) J' d m; X
social services- z( E( D' ?3 {. j+ j
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
- n2 N* s3 f) B5 o4 V7 }- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members, W8 r6 j0 j8 r1 s' g2 J
- update ASSIST website
7 v! j' A2 k# g7 k- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
( J' Q3 Z! C( r' c' ]* h/ J- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services' y# N+ J% \$ j, E! R. }2 J1 V
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

; n1 h% z0 \2 \6 M/ _- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of * T) t- H! }7 D: u, L6 O
experience and education 6 _4 R* v" R& X$ A/ E% t, O
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills% F8 N9 K2 N; I" {9 Y2 J W* t
- experience in community work and immigrant services
+ n) l( j) {+ q& q- experience in website update/design
. F! b0 E' d. K4 Z- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
