Position title: Community Development Worker

Job Description% S- d7 {+ W% H* i
- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to , Z$ A# s+ v& ?# W) Q( }( M. N
provide services for Chinese community
3 W# y1 C0 L5 y* a/ W6 C; P- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
: z* P" B% g* \ access to mainstream services3 E/ W# o* s& d6 U- D9 p, T- r. `
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
b: s2 | N2 r# r1 I social services! y8 B7 E- A4 Z4 f5 `. p7 _
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies+ h& c( l' F* k" J6 J/ n1 _% O% c
- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
: ~1 q% \" W' F' c6 p. G- update ASSIST website
7 p% y6 F5 @6 u- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre+ Z4 l& g* [$ a* B1 ^
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services3 T& Y" b& b5 w
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications$ g/ ?/ ]; N: T* e
- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
2 V' F% f, m4 n# | experience and education
! H, P" ?5 Y4 }2 O# m. p- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
$ y6 } B' Z6 t* w, [& k$ S. q- experience in community work and immigrant services0 M B' Y( w; J) E. i$ g; l
- experience in website update/design e+ N4 ^# t2 T
- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
