Position title: Community Development Worker

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to 0 W* R% |0 }" y8 ~5 C: Y8 p3 q2 u- C
provide services for Chinese community
9 E% r! k' j' p- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population 7 m4 G2 K: {! d0 z! n8 N% c) a3 o
access to mainstream services/ h2 c$ |8 a, }5 L" c ?
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
( f. r% g" M8 K( u* s T+ m social services
9 j) r* g- j# g/ ` h- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies- T3 D) e9 _$ p8 a6 o U
- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members& V# Y1 a6 e" p; x1 O9 C" S ?, \
- update ASSIST website# G% T1 ?2 `4 `1 O
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre1 j0 o7 s) o! Z2 y. F4 Y
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
- u4 K& z1 y! q% x% L- n- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time0 _; E x* O9 C2 [: ^
- update membership database
$ r/ S2 V! i8 Y) u; d- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

0 t4 \" x- e3 n- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
* t3 V; C5 K$ t- P9 r) \ experience and education ' d$ @8 L& m8 I) U4 |% P
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
+ R. b! i* c" D$ S4 k; L- experience in community work and immigrant services0 S6 p! @5 @% ~( n. @5 g$ Y1 y0 S
- experience in website update/design% R( s9 M/ H" c- F( u5 Q
- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset) i+ @% ]6 `& ?
