Position title: Community Development Worker
Term: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)
Job Description
( N; x+ M3 J( q7 U* R, c7 f/ Y-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
        provide services for Chinese community
-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
5 l, b- j! i' V* w7 X8 c' H        access to mainstream services
- h0 j- j; R4 \, [8 W  E-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
        social services
  [/ G; u/ T& W  \7 X% u" [4 O-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
- [1 ]$ s8 `# ^; M; {9 T3 X! x1 X2 [-        update ASSIST website
-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
0 [: C$ e  x5 w! h, D. @; |' v# P( L9 c-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
4 Y/ {  N7 A3 v-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

' v4 M5 {- p1 V  X-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
1 T3 x. w2 O* |. m0 l7 I        experience and education
-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
$ v7 G) c+ W- y  m9 Z9 V% s-        experience in community work and immigrant services
  R: @  {& ]1 m& ]' j) J6 o) m-        experience in website update/design
-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
