Position title: Community Development Worker

Job Description
" v* b0 T! f& ]6 z& V- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
$ V& M8 R: S/ K/ q3 ] provide services for Chinese community
3 F4 X$ T& Y; C# b- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
& t1 \& m8 e2 i3 n access to mainstream services
n1 v( p* n' B# W \: l# U- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of , Q* d1 h( I1 [6 C0 M
social services
2 M5 i7 M, q7 h& {; x- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
+ X/ |0 `" O- \& e- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
" H: s$ a& h% l4 n* |- update ASSIST website% Y3 [2 q4 U6 P# n
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
: c, y5 G$ c& V- K- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
0 n- D6 W: r* u" F* N9 H% F/ p- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of 9 A/ q A; X) |- s# u4 S: E2 y
experience and education $ d7 v+ x/ Z `( e" R
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
' i9 P' ~( S5 S; l6 o- experience in community work and immigrant services
7 C0 N+ O3 v) d% c8 |/ Y, Y- experience in website update/design% a0 F) ?2 L- p% `
- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset" r# w; \' r5 Z( [: l" k
