Position title: Community Development Worker

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
8 W$ {- m6 b+ q* j0 G provide services for Chinese community
8 h& m. s7 t q6 T, Y7 V3 x- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population 5 W' L5 U' G! H
access to mainstream services
/ r2 q3 }$ p$ F# L: D- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
; O2 d! E: ^# _" ^% H social services; K# S) X& {- I# r- H1 ^* J p
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
. J% I8 P/ ]1 m i- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members" s4 E6 V [5 e% ]' I) g5 i) N
- update ASSIST website9 L5 c( F, G5 h
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
; u; `6 |6 S$ Y8 x5 F# y6 h+ d* N- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
. d3 q% Y$ E* ~+ Q/ u& I- O- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

Qualifications5 I d4 O8 o0 J5 \; ?, n' Y4 _
- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
9 G9 c5 z! b: a/ c6 ? experience and education
~* B5 B0 H! X3 D$ F& B- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
7 Y* R: ]1 G! D/ H( E8 X- experience in community work and immigrant services
# V( v" {. Z' X+ U" c% Z4 j8 _3 O- experience in website update/design! X& c: _* T! p- j u
- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset# F) N+ ]+ l, k0 J% A5 V# e
