Position title: Community Development Worker
  x) h" G6 Z6 K  z* ^$ YTerm: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)
' c7 z3 T, K* H* }! y4 SJob Description
-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
        provide services for Chinese community
-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
: U" ^9 n+ Z, Q* E: I1 q/ V9 L        access to mainstream services
8 `4 }" o8 u) ]# v( s-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
! Z4 q3 L9 i- E) w$ B        social services
! K- h2 P; E9 x-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
. M# j& l% S6 N# F7 U-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
: e9 H; [1 L$ K! f6 g" k-        update ASSIST website
-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
. o5 a8 r/ ^' V& @2 ?-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
-        update membership database
-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
        experience and education
: N: L( n/ L  Q0 Q2 C- z! t- ]-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
$ H% u: _) l1 G7 C  I-        experience in community work and immigrant services
-        experience in website update/design
-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
