Position title: Community Development Worker
) k5 Y$ v7 g9 M$ `Term: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)

-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
        provide services for Chinese community
% W& Q3 j: V& I/ u6 v/ i-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
0 E* ]' g$ N5 G" [1 p( }' C6 g        access to mainstream services
. B+ b$ T' ?% N4 E-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
        social services
-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
% a0 _+ ?0 ?$ _. A* o4 R! u-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
-        update ASSIST website
-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
4 z5 A" I& [+ B( ]-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
  {- q0 d& U. N4 A2 A-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
" Y9 x+ ^- K5 |: \7 o; v, L6 }-        update membership database
' ^7 k# R9 D* v0 w-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

( j* B/ a( j9 y) d- x: T+ \1 U-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
/ m+ `" P6 k" E        experience and education
6 _- e+ Y: \  D4 G-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
-        experience in community work and immigrant services
' c% j7 w- J& {/ g8 o% X& A" r  e  H-        experience in website update/design
8 K0 V& w0 B  O* b3 s+ L-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
