Position title: Community Development Worker
: J; {) U( A4 a; V9 ?& RTerm: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)
Job Description
-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
* `3 |, t4 ]8 N! d        provide services for Chinese community
-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
- s! o# K0 S0 c. C        access to mainstream services
- w( W# _1 I# |: D-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
9 i0 `9 H0 K2 l; R2 ~$ K8 ~        social services
4 X3 v) ~# }8 Z' Q- w6 h1 v- G-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
" N) }" n) j  m- u4 I-        update ASSIST website
-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
( v5 G. B+ u. r$ W, f-        update membership database
-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
; W  V2 i" d1 h. y9 P        experience and education
/ h1 C/ a" K; w+ a2 I1 U-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
6 d) k5 y0 E  _* F-        experience in community work and immigrant services
. w" t$ z) B" V5 {  c" ?% n-        experience in website update/design
-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
) U; _# a, a  W" h6 w% P: R
