Job Description

provide services for Chinese community
, s/ J4 J# S; V5 M' C6 u: w) L1 @8 o- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population 7 ?9 p" L- W1 ^( W' w1 ~8 F1 H
access to mainstream services
$ W; @3 y! S# B% x- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of - F8 A, C6 g5 J+ {+ O! D, \3 M+ `( d
social services [" s$ N, Y [: w
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies% k1 ~3 o |3 |7 G
- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
- z1 t4 J& m& f5 @5 J- update ASSIST website
* u( s: B. ]9 x- |7 p- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre! G1 n) w; P1 U4 z* b
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services3 ~ A+ j5 w( ]" }& w
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time& e g6 ?0 f* S: w9 i o
- update membership database- |: a$ E$ v. \( p& h% Z6 R
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)+ {6 g8 g9 M) g" R+ u

Qualifications! {" `0 G0 |- m, f6 y. @9 S
- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
2 K5 u6 o# w: r" v% U6 ?9 l9 b experience and education
, t6 B) p- A" g/ P- A- good oral and written Chinese and English skills# E1 t' r2 g* o
- experience in community work and immigrant services
( v9 a# Z) I% {! j# n* P- experience in website update/design
( D* N3 R+ t9 c0 |: [/ O% H- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset2 V; \, ^, A: v+ t* X" t& ]
