Position title: Community Development Worker
+ Q2 `4 d5 J% hTerm: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
; |; x/ O W; r# [ provide services for Chinese community9 C$ ~) A7 D& T7 S8 k! U
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population ! \" Y! z3 N# I1 r
access to mainstream services/ c+ O8 J7 N: ~ Y
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
& R9 D C; z; m social services1 ]1 x) ^& B5 \( z& I9 E |
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies+ _ x) j1 o7 j; X4 Q/ F
- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members" H- r( @6 D; {6 }' `3 R" w4 f; z" i' n$ v
- update ASSIST website) L5 a8 i7 e7 W$ R- s! y8 _
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre9 X5 B# o5 r7 V& I
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services* A- L) `- Z4 X! X! X
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time# s3 B+ k# Z3 M" h2 S: [# r
- update membership database

- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of 6 Z; V9 N6 U! ?; n+ u2 z" O7 N* k
experience and education : m: k: a( e, _5 G" {
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills. P; m0 A5 X* D- i7 f6 r
- experience in community work and immigrant services
+ w# s* d2 t, n7 d& X- experience in website update/design% s' z0 ^+ B+ m: t
- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
