Position title: Community Development Worker

: v5 S" E# `/ F' Q& e- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to , W2 J; w; E, @" }. e
provide services for Chinese community) E9 h9 N' x% \* @( _: A
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
, B/ ^! H) j7 c5 i* L access to mainstream services
8 e1 M* x" Z' S$ @8 M4 e- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
) @1 v- K7 X* A& J' i2 p4 \% P social services3 B: X8 i# f p' j
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
2 z' A: B6 o) Y3 S3 D- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members( C/ C/ B; T0 Z' y; j8 r2 A( p8 U5 v
- update ASSIST website2 P# n2 S' p" G9 S2 A
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre" u" [ d2 D; _7 B% ~
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services! U. ^- m8 N s/ ]* H/ R8 J
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

" r, K" ]* D4 L6 X9 k- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of

- good oral and written Chinese and English skills) ?7 ~$ H! o& J( v- Z
- experience in community work and immigrant services: I% [6 O% v1 B; F3 Q% `
- experience in website update/design
, A$ D5 m2 Q- b+ Y* s4 @4 L, e- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset9 i$ j6 ?; o% |: V, J# s& }. B
