Position title: Community Development Worker
+ U# _* O( k; G# TTerm: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)

% O6 j! ~% o1 V, j& o-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
        provide services for Chinese community
-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
/ I& l* k) W6 h4 Z        access to mainstream services
1 X, V5 l6 B# O# P' a-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
  t7 v+ l, ~* S        social services
-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
9 d6 M' ~5 t8 U! v' X-        update ASSIST website
-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
3 i' E# p, _& q! N* z5 C-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
-        update membership database
-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
8 g! D- Z# a5 @' @# n1 z-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
7 O: K. O0 ?, T0 J& x        experience and education
, e! b9 x5 J0 [, F' g-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
; n$ G; H8 _' h-        experience in community work and immigrant services
-        experience in website update/design
) ~- A' t4 a! H# A3 b-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
( H! V/ V7 \3 }, ~7 I; d  |  L
