Position title: Community Development Worker
Term: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)
Job Description
-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
  P- a* e1 M/ K- ?        provide services for Chinese community
-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
        access to mainstream services
8 X$ v, n& u9 G$ {; }-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
        social services
-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
+ o, V) M2 }& g$ m( H* `5 l-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
-        update ASSIST website
-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
7 g5 `2 q: W- l3 ]* n4 J: k-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
' G% M; t. M/ b* P3 c& p! ]-        update membership database
) |5 a/ P4 q4 u3 Y0 V-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

5 ~/ Q5 f" M6 ^5 [9 mQualifications
-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
4 O% y1 g# U! m# R/ U        experience and education
-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
-        experience in community work and immigrant services
-        experience in website update/design
8 V' d; z* h* M- J8 e  X8 M-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
