Position title: Community Development Worker

- x3 y( R' I; ]6 n- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
" j4 {; F I' g/ i2 A! O provide services for Chinese community
8 X* {( u9 D* P6 [5 i% D- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
8 C+ v# O+ ]8 n; l# X4 g0 L access to mainstream services
3 C# p& }: v3 C a$ P- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of * m$ k5 B9 r% A( k
social services6 v' W4 F7 c, j E% D! m7 u8 r
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
# |8 v( G* X Z- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members- R6 ?( [0 ]. R2 c
- update ASSIST website- i' t! y2 U2 Z/ S! D f$ K. s, u
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
/ A. E% `+ G9 R. M. N- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services+ R6 [# {+ H) a
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

Qualifications
* w; a1 \3 c$ N* O* y, q- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
2 l; r0 v: Z) h; D- i" A6 A experience and education / R5 {# E% C) r* D
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
$ l; W0 ]' f0 o. k) \3 ~; f! q; D# \- experience in community work and immigrant services
1 g* X2 G$ n; V0 q0 m/ Y) L- experience in website update/design
7 k6 O1 s5 l& Y2 l. Q2 @- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset9 i6 |$ _( s( E7 x
