Position title: Community Development Worker
* l: \; m' ?, l4 h; j( wTerm: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)
Job Description
3 l' I; Z8 ]% {' x) W& L' G4 @-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
8 {4 ^, b4 p4 C+ k. q! {- @/ X& P        provide services for Chinese community
-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
        access to mainstream services
9 T1 g/ L, e; G" ], s-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
, l. v, R' q, X# k2 C% J3 {" _        social services
-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
5 `6 E, k( u7 Z( H) @7 V-        update ASSIST website
/ P3 ^) \1 N6 j4 G4 X/ Y3 P6 J-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
-        update membership database
-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
        experience and education
-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
) d' p/ _/ `5 P" m2 o-        experience in community work and immigrant services
-        experience in website update/design
* n- W- L$ x4 w-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
