Position title: Community Development Worker 9 ?+ U2 m2 h- c( F
Term: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)

H$ o* X7 ]3 f3 E- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to 7 A& E8 U/ @" R' y& D4 ~# f" z) }( E
provide services for Chinese community: Z, t% p& W( G* `/ B. n5 i
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population 1 I- ~4 K; t6 a5 C: n" H- U
access to mainstream services* ?4 L: o4 h' I6 r
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of * u, e/ v1 t$ J( [
social services, x) z! p" Q0 r7 v: s8 X
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies$ O U$ w; e4 T/ t# X# m' e- z
- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members; P! ]( ]; O& n5 A8 E9 a
- update ASSIST website/ @/ E) f( D5 {2 S
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre0 J! L8 _) B- ?9 {
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
- I4 }2 }8 B! ~9 W* S6 F- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
$ z- }# k2 E& Z: g# b% B! @) N, G- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of 0 ?( X/ B5 `) _1 H. B
experience and education
2 w+ w& k# q8 L2 C( u- L; c. d- good oral and written Chinese and English skills% w" d& D( q1 C2 N5 g
- experience in community work and immigrant services- `7 @" V# g! p3 E. `" k
- experience in website update/design: x; J# k3 U/ y. f
- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
