Position title: Community Development Worker
' N( @- y+ c$ hTerm: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)

- q: s- x6 f O/ r% r) I- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
( W$ k6 o% R9 q! L2 ]9 A* F provide services for Chinese community3 F6 }) Y# m( k8 a% ]5 I9 t
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population 1 [6 V: M# s1 v8 j7 J b
access to mainstream services
5 e/ R/ v# {! q9 ]3 E, G- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
4 c( e0 w) Q/ T, m5 P; s social services- G! E3 X( s8 f: j0 P
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
- E3 H6 X0 p6 X' T/ x- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members+ @$ C5 h+ X+ L/ K" W
- update ASSIST website
% Q; ?9 C- q" f% X1 H# ]- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
, i0 w' t! `; y6 Q. ?! K& @- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services8 }% `' X5 C b1 K/ g
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
7 K- I0 {' Z9 }. z$ [- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
" C( d x- p5 m, r: i experience and education ( l! v" G0 G l- F2 r
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills; Z- o, X( [, K: e
- experience in community work and immigrant services
5 W8 j9 w' S. ^4 A% o b' l( B- experience in website update/design
w* `) E( C# t+ h! h! x' @- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset9 A3 M3 Z5 {' s7 d: o
