Position title: Community Development Worker

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
% \/ U S; q: f' ^9 [# x provide services for Chinese community6 L) z) o0 d9 O2 S% R# i
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
; y8 b k" }, k- p* ?$ f access to mainstream services
" X3 \( I+ r' k) T- q% D! o8 g! X* Y- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of 8 j8 g" z0 W8 |( c: J8 m
social services
) `% s, b4 z3 ^( |- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
3 Y9 q% U) O/ u- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members4 J1 A9 o5 s: y2 T
- update ASSIST website
S6 S. O7 M! B1 B; F- q: Z- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
: J8 r. L) Z: m/ H4 H- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
3 m6 }1 z8 c& m8 g" Z- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)' @, n# s0 f4 ]( N1 D% z# B

- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
( n( k) K3 E$ _$ V experience and education
% n$ l8 v f5 m* F9 b: b) K- good oral and written Chinese and English skills l2 u# }4 I& u- w- J# K& u
- experience in community work and immigrant services& f( i2 N1 h+ g# N c& F
- experience in website update/design
' c7 A. |' v, F9 j" B# l+ q- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
