Position title: Community Development Worker + x/ @' d2 ^; k0 m) {
Term: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to # k' V% M, Z2 Y4 \ M
provide services for Chinese community
- a$ z5 Y: c* K0 H3 u- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population * l2 u' h9 ]2 O- h9 j1 U" h& t7 }
access to mainstream services9 D: }) S( i6 o T% a4 ~9 k5 K$ J
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
% p% ~1 r8 X5 a social services( j5 E ^# l1 }' X* q! y
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies& J1 J0 h/ X j" {$ C( w
- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
5 R! b) N$ x! k, s4 ~5 e- update ASSIST website
9 M- f' F1 m: a. }$ C [2 s& }- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
8 e; u* [! O5 {$ ?- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services9 ^3 r) }3 [+ {9 L% x3 {
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)* L! i( p4 P0 P e) V. Q M; V4 M
3 Q, p: Y7 J8 g4 @Qualifications
" M9 i9 Y2 b9 b/ }- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of 8 A2 ?+ U# u! L" \! K: D
experience and education ' C% g9 z0 l; o# a
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills5 W' O( P& R( V* U! [5 @
- experience in community work and immigrant services
. u" L" H$ v* R/ z. h$ q- experience in website update/design% r: C" }! \+ f! y- T& O
- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset( E w1 w% Y8 _2 H% a
