Position title: Community Development Worker
$ U9 P5 x" G1 xTerm: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)
Job Description
# f- R( \( x; R0 E4 P-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
        provide services for Chinese community
- N  b9 }, Y+ p3 G-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
; ]3 H) ?# H7 f5 a        access to mainstream services
-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
+ ~! N- W2 @, [9 V        social services
3 s$ A5 H0 f3 s4 g-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
-        update ASSIST website
+ n2 f0 S. t8 a' |( k7 {-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
! s$ x7 J. C' w2 c* K-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
-        update membership database
-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
        experience and education
-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
-        experience in community work and immigrant services
-        experience in website update/design
-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
