Position title: Community Development Worker
Term: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)

' Z% x, e# }1 ~-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
        provide services for Chinese community
-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
        access to mainstream services
-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
$ s& T5 H6 K' g8 U; Z$ [* E. e        social services
4 E. v4 [+ V! E# @; T, q1 C5 y-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
-        update ASSIST website
6 l1 u% B- s$ O+ e9 C* o! x-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
' h* d% W! @$ I9 A& W: W3 ~-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
- x! H( p2 m1 Q* v: ~-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
4 V# T1 r  f7 q1 c" `6 f+ G-        update membership database
-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
6 _: ?% @3 C" w+ i  o-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
( J  r$ P, L& x9 k- Y! }  `9 J3 I        experience and education
-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
-        experience in community work and immigrant services
, r8 I& \# g0 K2 f-        experience in website update/design
8 {# @8 v; V- U: W-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
