Position title: Community Development Worker
+ q* b8 F% J% k9 F* Y: A# ITerm: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)
Job Description
-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
        provide services for Chinese community
+ a/ L) h$ P* G$ A-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
        access to mainstream services
( F' p  ~. A' u- |, p-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
. {: q' R, F0 [! V, m        social services
# _, R2 h* x1 f( I. B) m" N-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
-        update ASSIST website
-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
, n' G4 X5 z# s  H$ o8 P4 @-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
-        update membership database
-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
        experience and education
* W1 I1 l4 I$ l) R5 L-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
9 {" W. `. T8 ~% a) O-        experience in community work and immigrant services
: G7 \! G& D; j( F( T-        experience in website update/design
( W1 c) g% Q' X  ^1 _7 C( e-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
