Position title: Community Development Worker
" `3 u7 F3 ]. l/ g& p+ @Term: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)
Job Description
* a4 Y8 L4 i. Q( A& f) I-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
8 d1 T: J* X  M4 e$ E1 w- m        provide services for Chinese community
$ {* M' J- d  J4 D-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
9 i0 c) T8 ?$ S        access to mainstream services
-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
        social services
-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
, H3 C5 t, i' @: ?) B% h. X-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
( \( A# u3 L7 Q. D$ P-        update ASSIST website
-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
' h7 D* @5 A% M# X-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

' Y' i$ u: F- j1 E8 U-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
3 P+ g7 d: x3 _-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
$ m6 b; `* z5 I& K        experience and education
-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
6 t$ `8 _$ a$ F" l5 M-        experience in community work and immigrant services
-        experience in website update/design
5 ?% m  w% e! h' `6 N) F2 q3 F5 X9 [-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
