Position title: Community Development Worker
" h; q7 R0 L, z  s$ s* ^Term: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)
Job Description
-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
        provide services for Chinese community
-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
        access to mainstream services
-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
6 z% X, a1 ]8 N' b6 j3 N        social services
-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
& a: W  G; Y/ o8 U2 C% S: g-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
-        update ASSIST website
-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
-        update membership database
: r$ p/ l; O, i* R) |/ U-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

. E" n" ^7 i/ M9 E+ K-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
" z3 p( K0 C; C        experience and education
, X+ o: O. v# p5 u3 J% M-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
& O" `1 ^: m0 w0 Y# Q-        experience in community work and immigrant services
; T2 L/ D" \6 o6 @: `, x/ D7 U6 {-        experience in website update/design
, C7 w) U) \5 m! r) H$ @-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
