Position title: Community Development Worker

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
$ ~! [: t2 v# d' p( Q provide services for Chinese community5 @9 a; U5 \( i
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
9 ?/ ^( L. c" \5 a! [/ Q( v0 N access to mainstream services
# f; n4 H4 \3 D6 d. s- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
, [! V$ o2 b; H6 j, c$ q7 z! S social services/ c! ~ p. q4 A& P/ D
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
# |5 w* y& A4 s+ T* d- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
! L7 w* u& A1 w, Y$ i( p- update ASSIST website" p( n, k, @; k9 M2 z6 m7 @
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
: m/ \+ x# b9 V9 a( w5 [" L$ t% Q- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services6 l' F' _$ G; {) e3 I
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
; J; o0 P) N4 T( P- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
7 u! ^& g# y1 N, Z experience and education ! o% y2 i# I" y4 u6 C
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills: F! {/ @. y: T
- experience in community work and immigrant services
7 d8 O, A6 ?; ^- experience in website update/design) i3 O) E# ^, P0 W+ @: H
- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
