Position title: Community Development Worker
Term: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)

  U; s/ R  {% c" j  M-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
        provide services for Chinese community
-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
        access to mainstream services
-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
        social services
, p; m4 Z/ x" J" j, Q/ C; z-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
' Y7 J5 R  G7 T-        update ASSIST website
2 V- b+ v2 {. |2 J) l-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
' P( b9 F4 ~' C7 S5 [3 I-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
$ P! O0 g4 @9 H-        update membership database
-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

" E, F3 H, @( R  }$ H- VQualifications
-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
* b4 K6 g4 w* K9 Q. u3 z$ X        experience and education
-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
-        experience in community work and immigrant services
-        experience in website update/design
-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
