Position title: Community Development Worker
. W' ~& M4 L! q) U& eTerm: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)

- l6 \7 J! u) J) Y3 t- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
1 O" d$ x% l; A provide services for Chinese community7 v4 t1 `; q# S7 }: n! ^$ C$ e
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population % @ b5 \7 ~* u4 H- e
access to mainstream services
/ ^; }, l# E* ^- b/ B: p- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
( X8 J& H1 ?6 b7 S social services! x8 ]! G6 M- F( c/ c. Q
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
4 u) x x; c0 `+ g% g% m- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
# B6 `/ J- E; o) B& y- update ASSIST website4 S% |4 X, f: E" \& h, P9 I
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
6 v5 w% r, p9 _1 S( q- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
" k( o) ^, }2 f! L- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
% i" ?; q1 g0 K) {3 d- W; }- update membership database& V& }6 ]" Q% G& t' ~
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications$ [+ o2 s3 H6 z! }
- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of 0 c. i) Z4 t/ `% u4 u
experience and education
7 d2 K m& T3 i; {0 n3 U+ i( P* W- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
5 \# i2 a$ m% \* V+ [) X- experience in community work and immigrant services
/ l; ^- k* o& b6 U# \) i- E9 L- experience in website update/design
6 f3 @; m) x4 K! _! U- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset7 v- P. h' g4 n$ V3 U2 H
