Position title: Community Development Worker

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to 0 U$ o* `& x0 [, X& E
provide services for Chinese community: w1 `& H) z8 j, k
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population 0 |# d$ `: U# z5 {8 j O. C
access to mainstream services
3 H& U! ~$ U" {' @- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
% `0 p$ J: J N9 q! e* |; n social services3 l& l( p7 g, J ^1 |' ~3 N, T
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
: d+ p1 r/ g! T5 v- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
& k* V- ~3 N' l* M% h* `3 C- update ASSIST website
4 t; @; q7 |% Y6 P" h! b; ]- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre5 l6 ]* b% c6 g+ i. c, W
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
+ Z$ |+ P) u+ E! Y2 Q2 W; J3 _2 t! ?- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
! ]& S4 Y% I) f- i) w, s. M experience and education 1 j) T9 a2 W$ C0 C7 p
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
+ I8 \- }5 r8 ~" s6 D- experience in community work and immigrant services
5 B) j8 ?. [: `! y# L4 N0 a3 e- experience in website update/design% K/ |: Q! r1 y/ Y2 ?
- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
