Position title: Community Development Worker

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to

- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
, D' _0 y5 P. S. m access to mainstream services
4 Z2 w* S% n+ p9 a! i, p- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
: t) b; [2 _3 e& D' k# b- [ social services
$ H# _: t! _8 Z- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
( F' v, d, O& ]; I6 C' I- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
, U+ G6 [% e3 }8 m- Q4 l4 I1 G' \- update ASSIST website( s% ^& H( ], H- |6 G7 O
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre5 _* o) O: h) b8 b P
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
/ g. P0 c8 [- {. q" n- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time, j5 s/ I4 V5 o
- update membership database: y/ U" s! r9 r+ }( V5 C8 T; k7 E
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of / h' Y1 u5 z( }6 ^4 b
experience and education
3 F5 x2 L3 v3 d4 M r4 Y6 z- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
* T, o9 ?' i/ S7 f- experience in community work and immigrant services. O: c2 S' V8 f
- experience in website update/design
0 s% N$ J6 E; A* N; b+ D/ _" t- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
