Position title: Community Development Worker
* f5 x4 X' H4 v7 j  b3 hTerm: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)
Job Description
-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
, r6 A3 s+ J& A+ `  i' w. K. B        provide services for Chinese community
( W% ?6 U3 \0 g" p, M% ^-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
) ]6 \: @# r. |" N        access to mainstream services
-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
( t6 J9 v% N9 w        social services
4 I$ _, u$ z5 R$ \-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
, [; _  L7 ~4 S  R! j( J; y8 E3 F-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
# C% X7 ^5 L' l$ e5 B-        update ASSIST website
' _4 f7 g  S2 r/ V; [- Y-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
4 u3 |/ `5 _5 Z3 ^0 n0 l- a" D+ T-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
-        update membership database
-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
8 [& Q7 T" C( I. t$ v  A; _-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
# P  B* i7 y* n- H        experience and education
-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
-        experience in community work and immigrant services
; L; t# V% u9 P3 ?" {. n4 g1 M-        experience in website update/design
$ G( X& Q; q- T# ?-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
