Position title: Community Development Worker
Term: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)

5 q& o1 U- _% W; c+ `/ }2 [  ^% Q-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
: J1 z; M) G) X3 z% n% c* |! A        provide services for Chinese community
. J' z* ~4 r' c/ r* B-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
) O1 G7 B) M0 _( J! L% |        access to mainstream services
-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
  ]" M- L% u/ T9 \2 V& P        social services
1 H" X; p2 t; X' i0 g-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
-        update ASSIST website
& b* h5 K" n5 n; u: \1 b) c-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
( z8 n* u" Z- ]- p-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
% ~9 j% g; C% \0 X3 M, [1 e-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
-        update membership database
-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
- X8 K9 U" r# P-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
4 m9 I3 @! P6 U1 x4 d        experience and education
-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
-        experience in community work and immigrant services
-        experience in website update/design
-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
