Position title: Community Development Worker
# p! s' }$ c" K" W6 u5 jTerm: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)
Job Description
-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
( Q4 z# f8 X$ @1 W4 J0 G1 g        provide services for Chinese community
-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
        access to mainstream services
-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
        social services
& ?* a! V5 m) W5 ^9 H; @/ `/ }( y-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
! X1 _3 r# E- J) G3 g-        update ASSIST website
! I# }$ _( Y$ \# X/ q( ?-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
-        update membership database
8 T  S4 j! R8 C* M8 R# F-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
3 D- b. y" g2 X) ~$ u-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
; j* A# ]1 d5 O* V  N, z. k! h0 u        experience and education
-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
-        experience in community work and immigrant services
-        experience in website update/design
9 D1 ]- P% W% H( q1 Y; m-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
