Position title: Community Development Worker

provide services for Chinese community0 F3 T7 A; B, D' K
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
& M/ Q: e/ \: A$ S, m: m, V access to mainstream services; l' e+ G4 T# y5 n
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of / l+ G; H+ U3 r" [/ }5 S. j) D7 }
social services
6 [1 e. o9 R% U' ~) f$ K) ?- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies. Q6 h0 H- {) G
- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
5 ~* i/ v% L% O- x- update ASSIST website
4 m3 B+ X3 Y* C2 I0 ~5 ^- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre- ^; ~3 k& A1 e* s! x
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
- ] h1 p8 W( R& D: b! Q' U- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

Qualifications2 |# u6 b! |; n* c$ Q6 t
- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
* e1 h: ^9 ~* r- h experience and education ' W6 E7 e- A8 Y M& ?7 d
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills9 n: ?+ E1 B; {1 Q# e) R
- experience in community work and immigrant services
2 y" r' ~$ P9 L) q& l- experience in website update/design
, t& _' P0 r L; ~# B2 x- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
