Position title: Community Development Worker
Term: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)

-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
        provide services for Chinese community
! C% E" ]) t3 P9 H( h-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
        access to mainstream services
-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
8 B/ O) H. }9 w        social services
! Z" z3 s5 v5 b1 I6 z: H0 _3 ]% f-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
) ^5 {+ o  u2 a' y' e9 b-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
( C) ?7 Q* v( l9 v# @- `, Q-        update ASSIST website
-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
8 d$ W+ n3 P5 }  ?, I-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
& c+ _9 ?5 C2 w% q" _# i-        update membership database
-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
+ H' U* ?8 \  m3 [0 x-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
        experience and education
; _6 N8 f2 u( ~( |, W) @-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
5 R- z7 {* h/ k, B  n0 {-        experience in community work and immigrant services
-        experience in website update/design
-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
