Position title: Community Development Worker
Term: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)
Job Description
-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
        provide services for Chinese community
0 y/ t4 P4 E8 b2 Y" R6 ^-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
5 n/ g4 o4 l  i: k6 Q( s        access to mainstream services
-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
5 ~! U3 v1 ~. i1 e9 |) Q, T: @        social services
/ r! G/ I9 h1 e# _-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
-        update ASSIST website
3 G1 q4 M7 V/ O4 y-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
: `& u( c! c0 C" ]% b0 ^-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
9 [; y" P6 |: G0 T-        update membership database
-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
8 f  L  w% E9 ^$ b, o7 o% a" R* U- g        experience and education
+ [( U% ~' q  W+ ?. O2 ]3 K-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
/ Y- R8 V4 M; ]: V4 r4 L-        experience in community work and immigrant services
-        experience in website update/design
* k9 A. U1 M  L1 C-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
