Position title: Community Development Worker
Term: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)
Job Description
7 k% k+ T! \7 [-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
        provide services for Chinese community
-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
. r* l/ E7 ]8 Q# a. Q% @# t        access to mainstream services
-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
5 R: v+ I' r( }, q        social services
-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
  g% T2 Z2 L7 j-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
-        update ASSIST website
: S) p' q9 K% U5 ?-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
  J; l2 R. ]8 y# m0 H) V* z-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
1 j! A$ Z4 Q2 [  P; ~4 G-        update membership database
-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
        experience and education
-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
' e2 `5 X( p: q-        experience in community work and immigrant services
-        experience in website update/design
-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
