Position title: Community Development Worker

Job Description
+ l! N, I$ q6 b. G# q) s3 l- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to ! u. ]; o3 j; N8 G0 L+ c
provide services for Chinese community
$ r" P7 ]/ T9 y. _$ O- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
7 Z& b2 t |5 h) E9 L5 B0 D! ]! [ access to mainstream services
: u2 L' g6 O0 q; P- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of 9 T" m& w4 A1 U6 Y/ Y
social services& O+ B1 N- ~9 t k
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
, R" D- ^- R6 ~1 C2 T- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
/ t9 r- j5 n7 e6 r* y1 V u- update ASSIST website/ y& ]& e2 f8 @# I7 J3 U0 M+ d
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre# r% p, l" L' d
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
* L3 z. O6 w' X1 U& F- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

Qualifications- d2 }! [/ O1 Z8 i
- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
8 f# K3 T4 [( L: f9 V0 f h/ D experience and education
# W/ c6 a% z( h; r/ e4 X- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
- \; y& r- d i/ l5 j9 S% ?- experience in community work and immigrant services3 ]1 j: |5 @; O: {4 d
- experience in website update/design& y' w+ }, [+ {8 m+ h
- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset- K9 x a) |: T$ ^; r# q% G
) w. w, A5 r, d) i! y- f
