Position title: Community Development Worker
7 U' Y) w, h5 P' S' W. y' [( ]+ yTerm: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)

$ C& H) v: Q" k5 j" g6 o& R2 m-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
        provide services for Chinese community
+ k4 x; E, }+ C! }0 H-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
4 Z( g1 }! N( O. U4 u3 V+ X        access to mainstream services
+ I7 c/ u8 v) ]" J-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
        social services
-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
/ Z5 M+ y5 _; k% U6 k0 Z5 ~" P0 d-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
7 _/ E. h- \* z-        update ASSIST website
-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
3 W6 g1 J* U1 R# w# x-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
-        update membership database
-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
% V2 \3 g* f5 c( t        experience and education
-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
: A  z% m( w+ f) Q9 N-        experience in community work and immigrant services
$ X4 g4 m' {4 B' C- u8 N0 x-        experience in website update/design
1 n( f2 m& C. Q3 u. A-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
