Position title: Community Development Worker

8 _( t0 M) n9 R6 G4 E9 f8 s% N% X-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
; j  f. M1 \& g2 r        provide services for Chinese community
+ r) ?7 w5 `# I9 ~$ \  ?: m-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
        access to mainstream services
-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
- k" i7 O, f6 E, Z5 @. `3 E, B        social services
-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
0 f% N* h  l* r6 [3 u-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
4 O. h1 W, F6 w6 ?: _. p( ~# d-        update ASSIST website
-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
' e& [7 @; n- `* M) Z" p; {-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
-        update membership database
) }# {& l) k- @( d- f-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
        experience and education
2 z1 a  J* [# c/ O# D# O-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
) f0 Z. R; v4 A1 N-        experience in community work and immigrant services
; o! O& v0 b" ^# g5 Q5 w4 y- R-        experience in website update/design
-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
/ t! a/ E2 Z% v6 L. j; ~$ k
