Position title: Community Development Worker
( Z1 M: T/ [1 ]4 \: aTerm: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)

-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
        provide services for Chinese community
! q+ r3 I0 d! z3 n6 j  |8 C0 T-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
        access to mainstream services
-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
" V1 N' k9 u) P' d5 v6 t  i        social services
0 F1 f* V" G4 c  o-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
-        update ASSIST website
-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
3 {) A# l. S# I0 g-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
-        update membership database
5 X' @/ }* F6 `7 J/ T-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
, C5 |2 t, d- }) M3 X, t; x-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
3 d' j% o5 z( l& J        experience and education
-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
% s1 S. t3 f$ W$ x5 W-        experience in community work and immigrant services
, M, L7 l' S7 g2 \; b3 C8 {-        experience in website update/design
4 ~1 y1 R0 y% l5 K  W# \-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
