Position title: Community Development Worker
Term: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)
Job Description
-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
        provide services for Chinese community
-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
        access to mainstream services
- a1 Y) _" t# t) C: j-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
4 M9 n- j; M% K        social services
3 j1 `9 I; m  Z; ~-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
-        update ASSIST website
. b$ ]  c. N0 s# n-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
- s+ i0 y1 F$ Y" F3 X-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
-        update membership database
+ f* |$ n( x6 a$ F. V$ f! N8 c-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

' V' B$ i4 l/ j+ i: q) IQualifications
& N8 e- w+ b- W9 B-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
  K- v" q) }9 a' u3 E        experience and education
" z6 |( `! ]! e# P9 I% h3 |2 {9 r-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
-        experience in community work and immigrant services
-        experience in website update/design
" Y3 l  N% O. Q( G. ^& q: @8 t* z9 K-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
