Position title: Community Development Worker

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
2 f0 g1 s5 Z; c" u/ Z0 c provide services for Chinese community3 K' r. w/ [, V$ K& E
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
' R( y7 R& |* R, O0 D access to mainstream services' F7 p1 Q* z) A7 n% j
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
! j8 v& {6 y0 u; Q, i+ g1 t social services$ c1 E8 u* X/ a! d
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
1 s' G; w% I% m6 b) o& v- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members4 [0 B# L& ^* \& y1 q
- update ASSIST website
% j' [- |+ r0 v- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
/ i8 B+ h4 x& M3 x# y# X) S- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services+ {7 }% G! B! @0 _, y3 ^
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)# R4 @9 p7 U% T1 d

Qualifications! v1 y% `# _& ?+ v" I
- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
6 r0 i$ I, X; e( R" Z experience and education
/ F7 Z& d. |, R4 l- good oral and written Chinese and English skills u" N9 L0 g5 i. }1 }" o: Q
- experience in community work and immigrant services: T4 _! y& ^5 h% {; ?
- experience in website update/design
% v4 A% r/ s+ F8 w5 Y+ d5 c5 x- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
