Position title: Community Development Worker
Term: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)

% d. l7 C( X% l- a; j-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
% d# k) ?8 v1 N- F5 U        provide services for Chinese community
-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
. H  Q# F# e; N$ X4 V' |        access to mainstream services
-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
        social services
-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
-        update ASSIST website
* i; [* \- g, j/ i-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
8 v) X- W  W  H  T# [3 M-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
' _9 A( n% L' s. {4 N5 b2 E& I-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
  b( K+ C3 _2 o/ C* l7 W1 {  |, g1 z" ^1 ^-        update membership database
0 @5 P) k" [, @" x+ D) ~-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

- L$ P7 o( Y6 |9 L6 ?0 jQualifications
- A$ c% C/ |% i8 r; k-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
        experience and education
# z+ u8 b# S0 T7 V# T* c-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
-        experience in community work and immigrant services
& Z. g+ a/ P  i-        experience in website update/design
( W* x5 ]( d6 q2 A- o# z# h) g-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
