Position title: Community Development Worker
2 l/ V& i) A; K8 ETerm: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
! U4 I" y5 x% Y) t2 q$ V6 K9 m provide services for Chinese community
* ?! `4 h8 ?4 X- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population ( ?+ o# Z2 O {" G
access to mainstream services! N+ {% ?1 K. p% R! L* i2 `
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
7 B& |" \4 B8 }7 E; N! q7 ^) H' K social services
2 [. ^: e" g o" p- o9 Y1 N, X- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies4 Q2 q, u! T* X2 Y/ W
- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members# D- h' ?3 ]/ z
- update ASSIST website
3 O5 |% g. W# X! k$ ~% Z- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre* b z9 `) L" ]* U! V
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services4 c+ |0 c, C) l$ D3 U5 M
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time- ]5 |( ^9 r; w% j
- update membership database
4 T8 c, P; E9 k4 L e+ i: Q3 k- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
" w+ |* S% a- v I- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of + M. }( h) {6 M/ V2 U: ^
experience and education
+ Y( K# j4 p6 j- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
4 `3 p) j P& P2 w- experience in community work and immigrant services
) F! q/ t6 v1 X; {6 G- experience in website update/design. y7 E8 I* N [
- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
