Position title: Community Development Worker
: N6 l' E3 B: I( C- J8 GTerm: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)
Job Description
-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
        provide services for Chinese community
-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
        access to mainstream services
-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of

# R! _; |8 l% N" G% r' n1 J-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
7 d$ F$ y. a/ p! C4 w+ i-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
-        update ASSIST website
& D  I+ Y' L- s# W. }6 \! D-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
-        update membership database
6 R8 o6 _* ^8 b3 {5 n- @4 Z% {( ^-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

& U% T& L$ L: F/ VQualifications
6 h6 Z. a' W' l7 n# m: C! F-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
2 A, ]5 w; m; L3 `( _+ e2 l        experience and education
% B" o; t1 r/ }" S-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
0 F% |) d' y+ @: I0 \: D-        experience in community work and immigrant services
& J1 a7 d/ T) B4 q; c-        experience in website update/design
8 {0 Z6 k/ e: @# a-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
