Position title: Community Development Worker
Term: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)
Job Description
5 q6 f/ ^, ]: e- r0 Z9 b-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
        provide services for Chinese community
4 }8 w& [( ]# |8 K) N: r: r9 x$ c4 N-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
3 V5 S3 d5 j4 H$ b        access to mainstream services
" v' D+ Q! }3 f! d-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
9 {- B; G& J( C% M  O        social services
-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
6 l' y3 Y2 q+ R: |$ }-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
( F( X+ @$ \/ U' i-        update ASSIST website
-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
/ R5 S. O$ C* B/ d! `) E5 }0 k- X-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
-        update membership database
8 c$ \) A* W" ]2 O4 L-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
        experience and education
-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
; F5 u" q( n% d' J$ m-        experience in community work and immigrant services
-        experience in website update/design
-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
