Position title: Community Development Worker
0 P- g+ _" M0 f- j( p8 fTerm: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)
Job Description
$ e. b& Q8 A1 e$ U( P: i-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
6 o- Q/ N+ W) x# ~3 B( b' R        provide services for Chinese community
' Z" q9 L( [8 t7 c/ x% P7 ]-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
        access to mainstream services
8 |6 z9 w; j: V-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
        social services
-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
5 p' h- \- Z" s-        update ASSIST website
6 c  N: w' K3 Q! S! I; I! X2 B4 w-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
( M8 _3 u+ {9 O/ O-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
% M% ~% z# O$ {: |! u-        update membership database
/ V+ F: [8 W% U, C4 I. V/ z4 `+ M-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

- b2 v9 R8 t4 n  i; u7 l" f- i- ^- iQualifications
-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
# ]: G: M8 o3 a8 F, N& U        experience and education
6 a6 M8 }* P6 g) ]# }+ g8 ^-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
. F( M3 Y# ]6 w2 P4 S-        experience in community work and immigrant services
-        experience in website update/design
-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
