Position title: Community Development Worker

8 a9 l$ T% Z2 v: m$ U$ B-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
        provide services for Chinese community
-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
        access to mainstream services
, D" `6 F( C9 h1 W9 Q' U-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
        social services
8 y$ f, ?6 o8 n  M-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
: v3 p5 O/ V7 z& f5 S-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
-        update ASSIST website
-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
. x  T& E2 T- j" Y) d2 ]! }: l-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
6 m# Q; k) E5 F5 g* B-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
1 w/ I1 S/ \; M+ ]/ l9 U-        update membership database
- Z6 F' ^+ A, {+ ~4 T0 ~-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
  r/ i) i% \2 p% N) c! r" Z        experience and education
. ~9 M" D. Q% `" M; j-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
1 \; N( g- s' y, `6 Z8 t3 f-        experience in community work and immigrant services
  D$ ~  F! `5 k-        experience in website update/design
$ l* L+ q. S: j& M& j1 W-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
