Position title: Community Development Worker

Job Description
! q* T% s/ q) ^- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to 9 Z6 Q- T0 G3 h0 L9 X) R0 |$ p
provide services for Chinese community
( B3 k9 p2 a7 N- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
& {) i1 f* g* N# k1 u# i0 ^2 M! d2 H access to mainstream services
& L1 f( ~/ }: }7 s( P+ {- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
1 Y6 r* J/ A+ S+ F social services
- h" c5 c! n2 D% b4 V, H8 L) Z- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies9 N g% |( A$ O1 p O3 R
- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
( @3 i# d' ^6 @& d- update ASSIST website& s6 ^7 \$ r, V9 @! F( p1 b- Q
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
% l3 O+ ^1 W3 z; X1 j) K- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
1 e3 v2 l l5 n+ N5 A* L7 s1 F- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
- X' K2 S* s5 k& u, ^- update membership database& ]( o4 ]3 R) \# d
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

$ L5 c& r6 K6 h: WQualifications b# \* U( u' ~2 B2 a4 R8 A
- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
* ?/ O& w" H6 N# B7 x experience and education
2 J/ Z! [! k$ @3 d3 r3 w- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
/ u; h7 a$ T* Q4 Z& t, o. A- experience in community work and immigrant services* O! _2 J+ c+ u3 @5 D7 {1 ?
- experience in website update/design
( t2 g( K. v5 b, \! _- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset7 F d" c5 z3 G$ _
