Duties

* Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications
8 ?' T8 F: [# a; I+ \& g * Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis- j5 u. m! F' e. r& m
* Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance
/ ^& u' c6 Z* s* Q. x3 P( f * Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students 1 N8 `( I: a7 r6 ?% h2 A% M- n
* Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies: N/ Y! S- F9 ^$ ]5 Q, @
* Delivers completed data to users; maintains instrument and safety logs" Z G5 ]/ r e5 ^
* Assists in the upkeep of safety procedures and information; completes routine checks on safety equipment: `0 f/ a8 J6 s& {

Qualifications4 b, ]; K9 Q: y' r* f% C

* Minimum of one year of related experience in some aspect of analytical mass spectrometry is required
