Duties
- J# k* p' f/ z3 w% K3 N" F
) D/ @! p0 c7 y9 E * Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications
1 x, I u8 y% I) G * Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis8 q" B- P( n$ p0 {+ d- I/ a
* Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance
+ R, j1 ^6 g$ R/ G+ {2 G * Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students
" q" g' \1 o7 r5 Z* R * Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies x+ }7 L8 l ]: V7 l8 v
* Delivers completed data to users; maintains instrument and safety logs
4 N' Q- t* @6 f( e+ L * Assists in the upkeep of safety procedures and information; completes routine checks on safety equipment

Qualifications) D: y- A* @0 C* g
/ Z. D9 S- \4 D' l * Technical Diploma required; a BSc is preferred
