* Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications
& T; r: r t0 M: m, A! C * Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis
( Y" }2 d& f- l1 v0 n2 y * Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance
0 M0 H) M ?% M" C1 g* n * Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students

G3 Q1 ]7 _! v o+ e * Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies

" D# S4 `- z* R& L* J& j * Assists in the upkeep of safety procedures and information; completes routine checks on safety equipment

3 @! F9 }. y1 b) y* l& N * Technical Diploma required; a BSc is preferred
