A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.

The program includes the following elements:
- h- o' z3 I# Y, G$ x7 A- _• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)( o% A( @* j' Y: U* r1 q9 s
• Standard Child Care First Aid, n& h- o6 p( I3 {) B0 S. `) v
• WHMIS
# @: D# }; q* i# y& n, n• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care
7 s# K! B( g9 o! S7 V' W, G• Components to improve communication skills
+ `0 h% t# d/ u% N1 W& m2 R• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search% C, Q( z9 q7 ~
• Practicum Placements9 Q6 }! D: f2 V* e- }
Eligibility Criteria' q. b8 c! a& W& B
• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen
. }7 J: P3 w7 L" |& ~of Canada8 _4 S; I, d. \# s* Z
• have a Social Insurance Number5 _3 U. T+ \+ @+ B3 l7 @
• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check% J' V/ v$ t2 b) b
• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent
7 b! D1 ?) J$ F7 Q• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time7 w7 K5 K5 w, N7 e9 I$ w

Participants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet
+ Z/ z( k6 S! Q/ U# f/ q: P. Sthe following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:$ l9 I* i$ Y, `; Z9 d
• be unemployed or underemployed." B/ o; t b b: w# U& W
They CANNOT quit their job to take the course+ I2 I1 p5 S7 {5 n
• meet the financial eligibility criteria
