Step3.        Call 911 for the police and ambulance (if needed) immediately.

Step4.        If another vehicle is involved, get the car’s year, make, model
6 R. z# \- a: k( t$ u. K3 n' d/ p                and license plate number; the driver’s name, address and license
+ c" `; Q& F) ?4 S                number; and the name of his or her insurance company. If the
                driver does not own the car, get the name of the car’s owner.
& I+ L* N1 P: o+ w7 r2 C1 f; Z( K                Write down names and addresses of other passengers or
                witnesses. If you have a camera take pictures of the accident
                scene.
) D1 G' d( N/ s6 m1 l
# p  P/ ^2 o" W3 t6 VStep5.        The police officer will give you a copy of the collision report.

4 y' G0 z6 t6 P9 iStep6.        Cooperate with the police, but do not admit guilt for the
                accident in any way. You may be required to show proof of
2 R, t1 ^& l) }9 Y/ g! \4 s4 |                insurance, but do not reveal how much coverage you have.

5 n  i% r  V3 a4 I8 xStep7.        Do not accept any money the other driver may offer. By
# u5 D2 B( q/ b/ r                accepting money, you may give up your right to file a claim
: _6 [4 J. [- v                against the other driver, even if the damages turn out to be
                more extensive than you first thought.

Step8.        Do not agree to forget about a minor accident. You may see
7 Q7 l. s! p0 Y6 _4 B" P                later that there were hidden damages or injuries. The other
5 Y( y5 Q% t, J5 ?3 H/ x  F                person may even file a lawsuit against you.

Step9.        Write an account of what happened: time of day, weather,
/ p. P  M" t+ V4 k3 `1 y! E5 P                hazards, road conditions and driving speed. Draw a picture of
                the site, showing stop signs, signal lights, etc. Try to measure
& ]; @0 }- H0 d* t& u                skid marks and determine the point of impact. Note any damage
! n8 H$ c5 j1 r/ r                already on other cars involved. If a camera is available, take
- ?+ E" E2 U  l, k! I8 z/ m                pictures of the accident.

Step10.    Report the accident to your insurance agent or insurance
                company as soon as possible. Call a lawyer Bruce King, to discuss

第二，       检查一下是否有人受伤。千万不要挪动一个受伤的人。

第四，        如果另一辆车也卷入车祸中，要获得此车的年份，制造商，型号，
                汽车牌照号码，司机姓名，地址，驾照号码和他（或她）的保险公司
5 ?5 ]5 p- w' J! P                名称。如果司机不是车主，要知道车主的姓名。记下其他乘客或目击
                证人的姓名地址。如果你有相机在身边，把车祸现场拍照。

第六，        要与警察合作，但先不要承认在车祸中负责任。你也许被要求出示保

第七，        不要接受另一方司机的任何钱。如果接受了，你可能就放弃了起诉对
