The pain of our loss is beyond anything we could
  H' I5 B- f4 @> have ever imagined. Over
! I8 P8 `  |- a. ^) ~' O, k1 Y> and over again people tell us that they could never
0 G0 S( y4 {& v7 E9 ]> begin to understand the
> depth of our loss. That is true. But we know of One
> who does understand and
0 U( i$ P* U( F4 h) @0 u0 w: X> feel our pain because He lost His son, too. It
> happened when God gave the
: K# V9 r8 c" E% d9 o9 G> sinless life of His son ant the cross to redeem
> sinful lives and to purchase
5 ^! [7 \* M" o8 I/ O> forgiveness for us all. There days later, He raised
> His son from the dead
6 }' L; s6 ?9 h+ q9 M> and conquered death. It is though this event where
% E5 R- U" w2 E7 `; S> human history was
> intersected by divine grace and mercy that we have
: A3 Y5 s: p* a% f9 \" X9 b> hope. This hope, that's
> what's sustaining us. It's not an idle wish, but a
> certainty based on the
> promise of God. And this hope fills us with eager
> anticipation and a longing
5 `; {. q) F0 C6 o> for the time when we shall be forever with the Lord.
* o0 M5 ?: c7 v  I" v> It is this hope that
/ i# m4 o2 d6 d$ A2 x> will ease the pain of our loss, as the Prince of
! Z) F3 m5 r8 @  Z$ B+ L> Peace comes to our hearts
# [7 b9 D; n" t* u9 D6 E9 i# i> and says to be still and know that I am God.
