Duties

  W' u7 L2 v4 T) ?    * Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program
( e9 G5 z4 u  {4 O4 U- p    * Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities
    * Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes
    * Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat
    * Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders
+ J. P# k. X. }( [9 q    * Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements
    * Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs
/ o: b- {1 c3 L/ A" v    * Provides a year-end activities report and program evaluation to the Assistant Director
    * Serves as a resource person and liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning
    * Develops high quality promotional and educational materials
. \8 a0 X* {5 L$ N    * Develops and maintains relationships with local and national press and other relevant media
    * Creates and delivers community-based presentations on camp-related research and evaluation results
    * Provides support and advice on emerging LGBTTQ youth needs and trends to Institute personnel and partner agencies

Qualifications
5 p; m; U0 }1 y  k$ ^
    * Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred
    * Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
, j* P' N; X  t4 M4 g( \7 e3 v! U    * Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
' d+ I1 F4 I$ H. I( @3 ]# e5 c    * Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies
, \" D5 b  K' f) o    * Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills
    * Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning
    * Demonstrated skills in program/donor communication, development of information, education and communication material (including web-based documentation)
