Duties

& k8 J' w3 m, I* x * Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program
3 u a3 I9 ^$ i- ]8 c * Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities
) }+ G1 n* a9 s * Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes% D. }6 Q' ~+ l7 z8 c
* Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat, {7 z* g- G) z1 i; [. X5 W3 R
* Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders
G; a; ~! X g * Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements
3 x( X# d8 C" B: U6 i) F4 C * Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs

* Serves as a resource person and liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning, q! E6 Y$ ?" ]. n
* Develops high quality promotional and educational materials! y' n& g" ?; g+ Q/ Y2 l" v! R, u' N
* Develops and maintains relationships with local and national press and other relevant media+ k; y: ~. F9 r% S; B/ o
* Creates and delivers community-based presentations on camp-related research and evaluation results2 K# V; a, F* N" ]
* Provides support and advice on emerging LGBTTQ youth needs and trends to Institute personnel and partner agencies; M, y" T* h# L. S

: o5 ^$ x$ n# P+ C' ] * Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred
* e; ~3 X/ m6 @1 h * Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth+ Q. Q9 b) }1 M. U) e, p
* Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset5 |% l. p( k; F" t% k) @$ r
* Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies7 h& x8 p# o6 o* \3 n3 }( _
* Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills

* Demonstrated skills in program/donor communication, development of information, education and communication material (including web-based documentation)
