* Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program0 {! {3 I$ x2 O( b
* Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities) E& T9 o, a Q r5 U. y
* Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes
' R9 u6 ^) C- @4 y5 k" S * Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat
3 f2 U8 t7 I3 M4 r( B% m- c! B2 L * Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders8 L+ T9 W3 V$ l$ e$ r2 s! n
* Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements
z6 C$ Y0 d& O0 z * Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs
+ z G. a- r G6 c * Provides a year-end activities report and program evaluation to the Assistant Director; O+ V- V& ]: B& v6 U: |
* Serves as a resource person and liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning

* Develops and maintains relationships with local and national press and other relevant media. ]# Z9 a5 m- t0 i: k) }% O5 W
* Creates and delivers community-based presentations on camp-related research and evaluation results
- d) X7 t# M( v0 A* p * Provides support and advice on emerging LGBTTQ youth needs and trends to Institute personnel and partner agencies

* Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred5 E, d) i: |2 n+ Z7 L
* Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
" I; Q3 Y* W5 [8 @ * Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
( d$ {) n% p5 K( z( [ * Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies
7 }: g8 ?% D- U * Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills+ W, F9 N6 S) _( J9 Q& @* J% ]
* Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning# V5 m' U' h. p: [4 @
* Demonstrated skills in program/donor communication, development of information, education and communication material (including web-based documentation)( q$ V3 w: i' r
