Duties

* Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program7 \: r$ a, R# Q A! v
* Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities T$ s, I# s+ R0 s7 M! |% O0 W
* Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes" {" t8 s4 _' r9 Q2 q: l, [/ L
* Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat
( j6 j' m l0 G * Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders
6 _/ ~6 m- ?3 o * Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements* [+ p0 c% i) \7 R1 ]% W% v, }
* Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs+ x1 ^) |8 X$ ?0 j* q
* Provides a year-end activities report and program evaluation to the Assistant Director/ i4 k. X7 {6 q8 _$ j/ m
* Serves as a resource person and liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning

2 g0 G' D( V6 i& d * Develops and maintains relationships with local and national press and other relevant media
1 J8 D5 r H! g, N$ j * Creates and delivers community-based presentations on camp-related research and evaluation results
2 j* _+ f1 S4 W. U% W9 q * Provides support and advice on emerging LGBTTQ youth needs and trends to Institute personnel and partner agencies9 Z* p. S- V* S0 r4 R* e: }( x& l

Qualifications
+ `) w! K: |6 v' _( K) `1 T! y5 L) k+ ?4 K
* Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred
. P+ l9 w, W7 I3 F' L * Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
9 h' C* Y1 }: a2 Q0 u * Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
$ t2 s6 P v8 S! [3 D * Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies Y" W+ y0 _6 v& I& D) F
* Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills/ |! A0 o0 p" q4 z
* Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning
/ m- _$ p9 O! L: w' L * Demonstrated skills in program/donor communication, development of information, education and communication material (including web-based documentation), m! q9 _: K0 ~8 [, u' T2 a
* Excellent communication (oral and written) and analytical skills
