4 h' i8 A+ I- q4 a" P  L# Z- _    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region
    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators
    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
7 o9 i$ D& E+ C6 [    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses
6 `, `* W0 l) r    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth
    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program
    * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment
# H' z- t/ B/ N6 }1 v    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports
; S% L. \: w2 A# D3 V. J    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs
) _. }. w4 X, I    * Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly
' |* L+ i6 d+ M) y, |6 t9 J5 S7 L    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities
0 h( V, a" _+ z9 G; W' d    * Develops a communications and advertising strategy targeting community agencies, youth groups/programs, and schools

Qualifications

# Q$ d% ]$ h6 b    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
1 g# y0 x* Q" L  S; F    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies
    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs
! b+ r2 {1 L5 @  J' z    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community
7 j0 u7 y% A+ {8 j4 M2 }    * Fundraising skills an asset
    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills

; Z5 m- ?6 \& Y- j( p8 {    * Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills
