* Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region
+ S$ D0 Q2 k# I1 d# ?! C% z * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group. Q) u. C3 w' D, B8 V$ N3 S* }
* Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators% r6 R" J; o4 N" G
* Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
( n, ^7 e; O1 w4 _0 n; C * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
* y1 m1 r! q# V9 u, Y * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses$ F R! J; M0 f9 P
* Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth% t, s6 i3 h, `2 z1 H, ^
* Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program
) D) r' P. C% B( c# B * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment

* Develops a communications and advertising strategy targeting community agencies, youth groups/programs, and schools

* Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline" a4 H/ u2 h% m+ Q
* Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth n* C5 h8 S4 c+ p! A: g. M
* Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies

! w4 y" E% J- V" d * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community$ U/ n; }, P! d6 v4 {, Q- w1 g
* Fundraising skills an asset
( ~: h$ q% J/ b; l1 S7 i * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills9 F m- ]3 J+ h/ ^- G2 j
* Outstanding group facilitation, training, and counselling skills
