    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region
* z" t. r4 y1 F    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
6 U. x, A6 {8 }    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators
, w' ^# {' s0 C    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
, n. l; f# F% ?. Q7 s    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
7 f# C1 ~( b* S% m    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses$ p/ m: U1 t+ f2 m: H" Y
    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth
6 V+ P7 B- \; A+ u/ f+ H8 b" w  d. I    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program
8 s# I" ^, G3 T    * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment
9 U6 A) F5 h* \7 ]) N    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports$ A/ A1 Z3 A+ G- L" i9 ^& J
    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs
% a% b+ N' [$ H7 i    * Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly9 q2 F4 g  ]& y/ r' N
    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities' k6 P) V1 m& ]# \! N  s# Y! u+ l  @
    * Develops a communications and advertising strategy targeting community agencies, youth groups/programs, and schools" J! S$ F* N* ?

    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline) ~# Q* o4 M9 v
    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
/ u$ ~' Y! J( y( A" B6 r    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies  M8 N9 Z, K" C
    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs
; Q. ?: ]" K2 k* t/ l9 \# t( s3 x    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community5 q+ _+ f: _& V- Z0 i/ o  c
    * Fundraising skills an asset
% \0 Q  I- m  Z/ D/ p6 \    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills! F7 C2 O0 a( y
    * Outstanding group facilitation, training, and counselling skills

    * Excellent communication (oral, written, and web-based), organizational and interpersonal skills
4 u/ W  H4 y1 c    * Understanding of other languages and experiences working within Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
