3 e! C' w6 f7 t, V, b/ ?9 J * Provides routine technical and administrative support for sample preparations and mineral separation for isotopic analysis
; m: _' [/ V( L, p, F * Conducts mineral separation, sample imaging, grant mount preparation, sample weighing and iron exchange chromatography
! E& \0 d, E7 [5 @6 p S+ g * Provides training to graduate students, visiting scientists on preparation techniques
- f4 |& X8 v2 I. O+ k * Compiles analytical data using standard office software such as Excel, Word and Corel for use by the PI or client
. c5 t9 x; G) ]! ]2 v' o% H0 c, X" M * Performs routine maintenance on equipment and lab husbandry
# Z+ U' w9 t6 j4 c% I * Orders supplies, maintains lab records, maintain WHMIS records and compliance labeling, maintains lab inventory and safe disposal of chemicals9 H; L2 |% z4 V& N/ h& G
* Provides safety training to students, staff and visitors using the lab. _3 X+ O0 X8 f' H* w9 o6 o
* Provides administrative support by maintaining records, (usage and expenses) and prepares invoices
8 [# i& N+ b: _6 O- W) U& F * Assists with laser ablation analyses on the multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICPMS)

Qualifications
# b; j6 S9 q" e( X, \- v
: R- S3 ^8 L Q$ N! ?& j * Post Secondary diploma in laboratory technology, Chemistry or Earth Sciences; BSc in Geology or Chemistry preferred) {, v1 R3 y' x; {9 W9 Y
* 1-2 years experience working in a research environment (analytical chemistry lab or geochemical lab)6 ] k5 z9 L7 D" D
* Computer proficiency using MS Office applications and Corel5 f" r! f9 r L/ b- K; z
* A thorough knowledge of lab safety protocols and WHMIS procedures
- d0 d7 V6 W7 @; N% P * Experience conducting routine maintenance on standard rock sample preparation equipment
