- w* h' p0 N `9 {4 P3 |+ j8 x1 w8 j8 s * Provides routine technical and administrative support for sample preparations and mineral separation for isotopic analysis
6 t) @4 G! T4 ?( H0 U/ h+ c * Conducts mineral separation, sample imaging, grant mount preparation, sample weighing and iron exchange chromatography
& @0 S. X2 P( O( i2 `: D+ e, G1 F * Provides training to graduate students, visiting scientists on preparation techniques/ z4 D3 U: l) B
* Compiles analytical data using standard office software such as Excel, Word and Corel for use by the PI or client
' G% A: }6 t) S! C& @" W * Performs routine maintenance on equipment and lab husbandry
8 K: w& C: h3 y- v& b * Orders supplies, maintains lab records, maintain WHMIS records and compliance labeling, maintains lab inventory and safe disposal of chemicals
' v7 Y3 q9 P4 y; R * Provides safety training to students, staff and visitors using the lab
7 k( \" q1 B i& W * Provides administrative support by maintaining records, (usage and expenses) and prepares invoices/ \' Z- r8 P/ i- b2 a( F
* Assists with laser ablation analyses on the multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICPMS)9 b6 o- x" k, `" E+ h

Qualifications
, E4 L+ C1 n. C. }( X9 x. A
( z, K3 c: H& }2 H d/ q1 n: P" T * Post Secondary diploma in laboratory technology, Chemistry or Earth Sciences; BSc in Geology or Chemistry preferred: S& ^4 ]& K/ p
* 1-2 years experience working in a research environment (analytical chemistry lab or geochemical lab)
T; |1 H8 A9 s& H* ~ * Computer proficiency using MS Office applications and Corel
" b# B3 t; q1 G$ F$ W5 } * A thorough knowledge of lab safety protocols and WHMIS procedures
