* i# A6 w& U( M3 }" ~( B- i# z, M# R
* Provides routine technical and administrative support for sample preparations and mineral separation for isotopic analysis
) M* G9 U3 X( K+ c9 d9 I8 { * Conducts mineral separation, sample imaging, grant mount preparation, sample weighing and iron exchange chromatography( v% s' O3 l) i" g8 t
* Provides training to graduate students, visiting scientists on preparation techniques7 t9 ?+ S1 I9 n& m
* Compiles analytical data using standard office software such as Excel, Word and Corel for use by the PI or client, r& D9 Y3 d& L; @- b, k7 g) w
* Performs routine maintenance on equipment and lab husbandry
; K( {0 w0 {9 O9 c * Orders supplies, maintains lab records, maintain WHMIS records and compliance labeling, maintains lab inventory and safe disposal of chemicals5 t1 c) k8 c2 v
* Provides safety training to students, staff and visitors using the lab
0 q, ?; V/ N* p/ i1 t * Provides administrative support by maintaining records, (usage and expenses) and prepares invoices
0 y: j; S2 |2 m: w8 D# v * Assists with laser ablation analyses on the multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICPMS)

Qualifications
% w' o& g: _1 x6 {& ^5 T
- y. \8 z6 C( A# n8 C * Post Secondary diploma in laboratory technology, Chemistry or Earth Sciences; BSc in Geology or Chemistry preferred
# s9 w, P- g+ h- z7 k * 1-2 years experience working in a research environment (analytical chemistry lab or geochemical lab)
( N3 c( w: B9 `- s( Q4 i * Computer proficiency using MS Office applications and Corel
