Interior Designer

specifications of commercial-grade office furniture and systems products.

to the Supervisor, Interior Design or the furniture leader in those divisions

1. Consults with Sales Team in the layout, design and space planning of
5 i5 Z6 `1 \( S, _( ~furniture specifications for client offices. Travels to client’s location to8 @1 U, q- A3 N- j6 p) `+ E
measure layout.
1 K9 e* S- ] b+ Z& w% R2. Performs programming, space planning, furniture selection, layout, casework,
T) d9 e% K# I( |" `: u. \2 {product pricing, design and selection of fabrics and finishes, includes as-built
- f0 u) J' o4 k1 o/ s" ^drawings, block plans, space plans and finished working drawings for
' N; Z# ~' A( z# x. Tspecification and installation.
' f2 a- |. n+ |6 i8 u( U3. Provides professional customer interface by attending client planning. M5 m) r- C1 A1 Z
meetings to determine furniture needs and develops solutions to meet these

1 g4 W" ~( @$ ~& b0 n* A2 I4. Offers technical design and creative consultation to customers by answering
1 ]5 F i; X- G" Aroutine and highly specialized questions regarding furniture systems.6 z5 i, M: B; ~* n; Z
5. Coordinates, develops, and reviews proposed project designs and construction
! h9 H5 \: S* Q4 Dplans. Prepares presentation material including color finish boards. Reviews job
( z, f4 E6 M& Q3 W- v) q; ]site in order to perform accurate measurements. Will do plan-to-site adherence! F- K" Q" K9 ~; B4 `

6. Validates plans against construction, electrical engineering and Architect; B0 d+ _9 n+ ^
& Design (A&D) drawing sets.4 h, P$ H; a6 J# ?
7. Develops project specifications, double checks specifications against plans,8 p1 y& a9 F9 F2 l
assures specifications are ready for order entry (SIF file), and manages changes
8 c- G8 u! ^5 T4 q9 jand revisions.
. l- r5 Y- m; u: D! P$ J# G8. Verifies the company design standards have been met. Provides on-site job
; e& _" k5 P1 p* A# b% M2 Finspections comparing construction drawings to final build-out.; x: L n( N+ V' H* O
9. Tracks, records and ties design hours to specific projects for job costing.- M9 z; D0 f' f7 y
10. Works with installers to ensure installation meets customer specifications.& a; d/ x& i% P7 i$ E0 T
11. Participates in work-in-progress (WIP) and open order backlog review+ f- |/ O- Z6 i) i5 @
meetings with the furniture management team.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design with a minimum of two (2) years in a
8 n% r8 [5 ?( N2 E5 J8 W6 drelated field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and
i: C' ~& q* F. X1 Texperience required. Prior experience in office furniture industry, general
L- S8 X3 }/ cknowledge of systems furniture, and experience in customer interaction required.% Z( d, E/ B: X( j4 e0 l
