9 h8 Q2 V2 d) q9 H' W; K; g1. Chemical list and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS’s)
4 D/ C4 s( l+ n N7 |7 W+ ?0 w2 }, x• help complete up-to-date chemical lists for all laboratories within the department0 d5 w& B, d, v' _( l
• collect and obtain MSDS’s for all chemicals
6 _: U. B! j* H+ v' J. O( k• make sure all chemicals are properly labelled and stored$ Y) I+ K. C# U7 ]5 V. z( A
• proper disposal of all unwanted chemicals% W8 p0 q d* t0 D7 J! Z
• finalize chemical lists and then duplicate and label all MSDS’s for distribution to OH&S for the MSDS on line system.! S, {- L& ?* e) n" z/ a: P
) D! O8 d) U/ d' e
2. Standard Operation Procedures (SOP’s) and Hazard Assessments (HA’s)6 f5 E# d& M% e) y( s& F
• help update the department SOP’s and HA’s. This will include verification of existing SOP’s and HA’s and tracking any that are needed.$ a2 L4 N# r; c& g
% u+ Y& X- U& V
3. Tracking System
/ \9 j/ S( W* v) `: }! ^& h" m+ P• help develop a tracking system for adding or removal of chemicals as well as continual updating and verification of SOP’s and HA’s

2 V2 C# A: v. e7 C/ ICandidates should be inquisitive, thorough, and willing to learn. Some education and/or experience in safety is preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment are required.
