- n% B4 L( m1 {6 sAn Edmonton doctor has been stripped of his medical licence after the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta found him guilty of inappropriately touching women patients during breast and vaginal exams in 2001.+ q+ S2 d1 T5 v+ n0 l' N& p

The college announced Friday that Dr. Bryant Litchfield of Edmonton was permanently banned from practicing medicine for his "lack of judgment and unbecoming conduct."

8 I# ~* J+ l* G; q5 W! B5 b$ nIn a hearing held last August, the college heard from three women who said Litchfield had manipulated their nipples or touched their breasts for no medical reason, and had conducted improper vaginal examinations.

That hearing resulted in an order banning Litchfield from practicing, but the doctor appealed to the courts.6 I& n) o8 g7 Y

In the interim, the doctor was forced to restrict his practice to male patients.

On Tuesday, Alberta's Court of Appeal rejected the doctor's challenge, allowing the college to strip Litchfield of his right to practice.4 q0 E K& V/ g* |: s
