Position Title: Receptionist/Immigration Services Worker

- answer multi-line phone calls professionally, politely and directing the calls correctly.5 k! L( E% {8 d! O! c
- assist with providing counter services and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker( i9 Z/ n$ V; W* ]: D
- reports to the program manager and provides clerical support to all members of the ISP team

- post secondary diploma

- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset

Job Description
- g9 L* }4 t2 ?% y$ o; F- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community
6 y. x% c3 b) d( ? _ W- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services) j+ J5 D( D# y, j9 \) |- ]
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services
& ?3 u |- U+ }6 Z1 j- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies7 ], |4 L' s) R& e
- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members2 u3 ] Y& T1 Q8 h
- update ASSIST website- T% P% h1 R1 l, P& J2 |7 [. e
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre/ n7 o4 f7 N* p/ A/ r
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services4 j4 F: @4 j. N8 ]: b
- assist in writing proposal for ISP0 L4 k8 N9 j: R; K. y: @# [
- write quarterly and final reports for ISP
# L( q1 j3 S u* s, J+ `0 H- hold regular meetings with ISP team. W. R# S5 y8 [4 [4 U
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications; |' }7 z2 ^: J) x5 B
- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education
0 l7 R, h; J' R4 Q( G- good oral and written Chinese and English skills" Y' x" L2 `3 l7 W) L
- experience in community work and immigrant services) q! E# j0 V& q) V) C
- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
