9 {4 D" n( k- z5 Q% OThis is a clinic conducted by Badminton Alberta to train people as badminton officials. People who play badminton at a recreational, club, or higher level are ideal candidates for1 Q; o# w' m& ^/ N: y7 x: t
becoming badminton officials. The clinic consists of two parts. The first part consists of classroom training. This is followed by on-court practice during which trainees will have a chance to put their classroom learning to on-court practice. Trainees will also observe how certified badminton officials officiate matches and learn from them.8 o& f$ \4 K) R7 ?
' P8 `3 D1 S& F9 w- N0 yTrainees who completed the theory and on-court practice at the training clinic can decide when they are ready to attempt a closed book exam conducted by the Badminton Officials
! f/ P3 h- I; i6 {, l# wof Alberta Association. Upon passing the exam, the trainee is eligible to be certified as a badminton official at the regional level and will be given opportunities to work with different) X/ f+ l9 [5 b3 T
certified badminton officials to practice their officiating skills over a period of time at different badminton events.# R' m: |1 v2 R
: L, d% `) b2 O/ O0 PCertified regional badminton officials can move on to become certified officials at the provincial, national, and international level. |
