W8 W4 C0 g/ Y+ z1 j" VPosition Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides support to all members of the ISP team.

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community- K, U* t$ W' F% j
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services8 g) a; t$ D7 u: D9 D7 m3 e$ ?' c
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services

- coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members

- assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc.

- update ASSIST website

S- S1 u/ C' ?. @5 R) i9 l$ I( A2 w- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services9 w# e5 I5 y+ U, ^! b
- assist in writing proposal for ISP& a6 B# M ~+ o: _: s$ w5 {2 M
- write quarterly and final reports for ISP
7 W: t' g# b$ N( `2 b# W5 b8 t0 P6 I- explore new ideas for ISP

- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications& I9 \0 y- l8 O1 ?& E" h
- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education " H$ J& T' g; G$ @7 Q1 O, M
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
0 V- s% K' \3 K, _% m- experience in community work and immigrant services
: ^8 X/ y8 M3 ^- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars" \9 k! \3 ]( y& A
