* i0 |) D+ R0 y9 K' A, Z% M, tPosition Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. - community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community
7 g F2 ~) U% I. {7 ~5 A- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services
/ b* ^0 \5 j! x1 t2 _0 u! h, \1 y- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services; D- O8 A1 U$ d, w# F, d/ n
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
# U! ~; r+ I7 N2 d1 Y- coordinate good will activities
' \% U" s- ^: `+ h! _- coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members

- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities

- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services' g8 y. S1 n# h
- assist in writing proposal for ISP

- explore new ideas for ISP

- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time- t" F& g% j# z

: {' \/ q" A3 [/ @; L/ E; E6 @: \- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education 9 a7 P" j& T- R2 g
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
" h! U5 {- O0 [! m) ]9 ~. f- experience in community work and immigrant services2 V- e! Y6 y* F/ k) C7 s
- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars- g a( y. h" W! s, ]' H
- leadership skills
