Hours of Work: Full time (35 hours per week)

Key Responsibilities5 o1 |: h& q' e1 s6 X
- submit information for community news
1 C( R4 h- Y& R+ Z7 }7 z& L. K- provide volunteers to update membership database t6 `+ S* y a
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers$ \( x0 @7 o/ e1 u* I" \
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
3 T$ i5 j6 V% Q; H- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
) D n8 s! ^% t Z7 l5 ]- provide volunteers for various programs
9 o6 ~' e# m( r- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
3 c5 Z! w% j" u7 U6 s' c- E- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
. g( T$ Q- Y5 r- }8 o- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
- F0 c }- m, H! g% U- o- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services! Y8 G- ~* I; F2 C8 B. {/ [
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports0 y; b6 U$ s3 b* A: V# N
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed% i2 A( m) Q6 W* y
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed4 {0 S" g8 R, W, K
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
$ I/ l) N' E9 }) A( F6 _6 I- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events % z" [# O+ L0 V
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual 8 v+ m6 }; ]$ G5 U3 }
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers : B4 p# e8 a' j+ @# a1 b6 [
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers 5 R8 Z9 p3 w/ T
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis

) k; H3 h2 z1 ~- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education" ], A: e/ n, ~2 h
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
- \; {( }% W3 B- {; _8 r# L( u- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services' r3 b8 q! T1 G# x
- leadership skills2 m4 P# h* S& Z C. Y# E
- management and supervision skills
) f" }% t; ^3 p$ c3 Q$ t# n- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
