the logistical organization and smooth rental of the additional

a. To develop and implement a marketing plan for the venues that
# Y) a: [( G/ V3 L5 E! R7 Jfocuses upon advertising and promoting the venue to faculty,
. M! Q0 x) S( b/ rstudents, and internal and external clients on an on-going basis. : c5 j& T, y4 y( K7 l+ O5 s
This strategy will include implementing and/or delegating the following:& e6 }! p5 d; v! d$ ]9 \: W8 T+ P1 Q
· To develop and maintain promotional materials, the Horowitz ( N7 [( D6 s' c$ c
Theatre and SU Venues home page, newspaper and other advertising; to
7 p! o4 d( |& v5 S( Q+ ?7 |take advantage of other internal and external advertising
, k& ~; k7 T' t7 B9 Yopportunities; and to develop press releases and other promotional 2 T( t) i' S% ]/ M; q
literature on an ongoing basis.
+ g% I7 ~7 |, |· To coordinate tours of the venues for potential renters.; |$ d4 G7 ^8 a; ~
· To promote upcoming events in the Horowitz Theatre through the : O7 V+ a/ a- \. G! Z9 @
use of the Horowitz Theatre Home Page and the SU Events Calendar.

a. To ensure, at all times, that the venues are adequately and cost- 7 b3 { F0 Y1 }0 [) [4 |
effectively staffed, and that the staff utilized by or within the ! w8 B' n l: T% O' D4 o
venues meet the appropriate standards, requirements and needs, and 5 l' s( q; s7 X9 ?4 Y# w
contribute in a positive way to the smooth operation and success of
+ S% e( M Y/ {3 Gthe renter´s events. This includes, but is not necessarily limited 4 g$ Z9 I k9 I
to, the following:
1 ]$ R. p6 q, o5 p9 Y) V* Y4 g· To be responsible, under the direction of the Manager of Venues 3 m7 d$ f) V5 u: V/ a$ i2 q
and Programming, for all staff issues including hiring, disciplining, ( S; j( L/ W0 W$ f: b
evaluating and terminating, as necessary.5 D: j# q7 v N) @2 y
To ensure that the Horowitz Theatre is adequately supervised at : b& g6 }) _. Z! V" c$ J
all times, this includes the development and implementation of such 7 n7 [! k2 i3 {
schedules and rosters as may be necessary to ensure the effective and
. a9 N$ v. d! e1 `; i: }cost-effective supervision of the venues at all times during which it
/ v" E$ S$ D3 t, ~' b; V, S- Ris in operation or needs to be in operation.
* \4 J3 Q2 d' c, U) ` W· To work with the Technical Director, when necessary, to ensure . a' \# D9 L4 N' W. e' I1 P
that an adequate and appropriate level of part-time staff exists to ( g1 ?0 Y% ]! r$ h1 p
facilitate the smooth operation of the venues and to ensure all
. k& A% {' ^- l. T* D" M; u7 Z yrenters needs are met.
1 {$ m& { V+ \- v. h· To work with the Technical Director to ensure that the skills
$ c# L! \2 B; yand attitudes of all subordinate staff are appropriate in light of ! U9 K v% `3 v. V2 Y( {6 e
the roles they must perform. This includes providing adequate and
4 b' |+ \/ x! V L. [3 `effective training (and re-training) in all applicable and 6 `$ J- O! H( d/ \4 `* o# _
appropriate areas, and ensuring that the Policy and Procedures manual
9 N' U& X' ^. j: Z8 N5 |9 k9 Uis kep up-to-date at all times.3 g: ?& T; J" \
· To ensure all staff are trained in and committed to providing : }, s% p3 h9 Y( S- n3 O0 u
excellent customer service to all renters.

· Working with the Manager of Facilities and Operations to ensure

· Working with the Manager of Programming and Venues to ensure

a. To ensure, at all times, that the Financial and Administrative

positive way to the smooth operation and success of the venues. This ; \8 T" m7 t$ A, B
includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the following:
* M/ z& Y1 k- ^8 p To provide input and expertise in the formulation of appropriate % F7 _# K5 {) T) O, x
operating budgets covering the venues to the SU´s Manager of ) |, z; r! S: q. C6 F4 I' Y
Programming and Venues and to discuss and refine those budgets
( z4 X- O4 S7 l* U( C' kManager of Programming and Venues, and Manager of Finance &
$ X! B7 e" u% ~# _Administration prior to their submission for final approval.( X% ~2 {% L# \9 a$ t
· To manage the venues in a manner which adequately and effectively
! S3 c# ` P4 creflects the budgets approved for the venues and/or which reflects
" Z( Y, s/ ]! t# y1 a0 xthe best interests of the venues and the Students´ Union.
) J4 w3 U* ~& \! L7 v3 L# P· To function as the key player in the submission of financial and " _& |+ ^& D) M' |( m& @
administrative documentation covering the venues to be used in the
9 K, U1 C6 l+ U2 m% i# U, P# Acompilation of monthly and annual financial statements, and such
: K2 v0 w q: |% uother reports as may be necessary.

costing systems to be used in connection with the determination and
: }" |" Y7 ^+ l- r; Ksetting of appropriate prices for rental and staffing rates for U, Y p( ?3 g5 [6 C0 g y. J3 ~
events held in the Horowitz Theatre.

the billing clients, and to forward such documentation in a timely

9 F8 \& k9 o5 `* aand administrative procedures and systems in a manner which reflects

5. Overall Roles and Responsibilities5 [8 G' A5 E9 @7 ^3 y: v
a. To ensure, at all times, that the systems and processes used in
/ W; l9 M- j! G4 t$ trenting the venues meet the appropriate standards, requirements and
4 ^" {; ]) w5 y) b Hneeds, and contribute to the smooth operation and success of the ; B+ y: O9 }$ R3 s! M8 G- j4 n# V
venues. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:
) F* W7 Z, j0 Q0 j( N+ ~& T* i4 w% W: D- w i: K) e+ D2 ~5 H0 ]
· To recognize, develop and set in place such rental procedures as ! b( p0 \) a3 s6 @! }( w
may be necessary to ensure the smooth operation of the venues, this
5 B0 w* J2 L& t6 z) ^ |$ M; |is to include but not necessarily be limited to systems and processes % f- B& g: `8 L0 B8 U% [1 Z9 x
in the areas of contracts, inventory management, contract evaluation, 9 i; m( I2 M8 M3 h. R
pricing, costing, equipment usage, rental/contract invoicing, 8 S7 p& E; {0 u' P) I
together with such other systems and procedures as may be necessary + Z& R4 b2 W3 q4 g& F
to ensure the smooth, secure, efficient, cost-effective and
3 m3 ]3 N5 a2 h: Y9 {functionally-effective operation of the Horowitz Theatre.' O. N* T t! r: f3 Q
· To recognize, develop and set in place such operational procedures 0 [) P! k. r w$ Y: Z
as may be necessary to ensure the smooth, efficient and cost-
! Z7 A8 ?. C% B x8 deffective operation of the venues.
% G: X) e: v# @' O· To negotiate rental lease agreements (contracts) relating to
# F: W5 j4 K, w0 z7 edates, rates, staff and miscellaneous charges.
9 O% i1 q' c6 `3 K0 _( K0 w& ?9 x· To ensure that adequate inventory is available at all times and
1 a& k/ o: `# f, rthat such inventory is stored and issued in effective and secure ways.9 D; M- x3 l7 l* S* C7 R7 \$ i
· To consult with renters as to facility issues in producing their
9 @/ e G3 B0 x1 U* _- K' lparticular event in the venues.
* \! v5 h9 ^ S& ]· To provide the venues on-site staff with such documentation and
; ^) r R0 d% l4 n3 P- _6 zsupporting information as it may need to effectively fulfill the / e' H, w/ S( \
roles they are to perform to ensure the success of the renter´s event.
' X" H& B+ a/ E2 J9 E· To produce quotes in respect to staffing costs for a particular : B- F$ Q$ }, A+ j
rental with consultation with the Technical Director.3 \" t4 u0 _. u. p3 N
· To ensure that all queries raised with the venues whether from the
2 `; |0 _+ p' G& u, y$ Y. ?SU or renters, are promptly and effectively handled and adequately " Z6 V7 u3 r/ h6 _6 [
answered, and to ensure that such action as may be necessary in
( J( J" c- m/ Bfollow-up to such queries is taken in a timely manner.8 n6 H' m& \/ U- |( V
To ensure that the venues and its capabilities are adequately, & R3 v; ~3 P! u- I9 d
effectively and cost-effectively advertised and promoted, and that 3 g0 ~* `& I$ H% N% E
the cost of such endeavors does not exceed the budgetary provision : r) R$ ?$ \% _: Q* m
made for them unless prior approval is given by the Manager of
0 @. U6 v9 W& B' LProgramming and Venues.3 h3 |; x1 N: b/ Z; Z1 h
· To act as an informed and knowledgeable resource in the case of . V0 ~3 V: L9 @- ~% J. Z
significant challenges and/or problems surrounding the tasks of 4 B" ~+ p8 M" |) V; m3 f; h( U
marketing, administration, operations, and any such other matters as ; z r# _, ^1 Q5 c" E% N
may provide such challenges and/or problems.

1) Minimum two years related post secondary education, or
