what about clichéd or hackneyed, are they closer? They both mean something by "overuse" but the end results still seem to difer from when I use 肉麻

Thought I'd throw in my 2 cents!; O8 h; g8 O' v. y) R

8 s( a' E5 v3 [) D- ^; e1 K7 ]cheesy often means "cheap, flimsy and of low quality". However, when it is used to describe food, it usually means "of a lot of cheese"; when describing an emotional/sentimental scenario, it could mean "fake", "of low class",  caused by affectation, which may very much make one to feel "rou ma" , "goose bumps" is just one of its infamous side effects.
