Canada’s first comprehensive Digital Economy Strategy, we need to look: F$ u. B' J$ ]& `1 H
carefully at how issues like UBB affect the big picture. We will be2 T' p% G5 s% F, [2 r ]# W
guided by our long-standing policies of encouraging competition and* c: E2 w; M+ Y6 Y. W
investment, increasing consumer choice, minimizing regulation and allowing5 @4 K7 F3 h' t1 U" O$ J5 }' z0 g# ^
market forces to prevail.

& |8 X# x& N8 b2 z5 {/ L: Z5 s3 yThe Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) has
3 ~/ V& a% X" Q7 F7 p, D- S' uchosen to examine these concerns that the government shares with a large7 H: c/ v+ p& Q
number of Canadians. Details of the CRTC consultation are available at

When the CRTC reaches a final decision following its consultations, the

line with the best interests of Canadian consumers and encourages
