Our government recognizes that the Internet and digital technologies are

innovation, commerce and social interaction. As the government develops
) {) }( M) e2 m4 Z! jCanada’s first comprehensive Digital Economy Strategy, we need to look( s# ~1 h* N4 [: L/ k7 {& M# l
carefully at how issues like UBB affect the big picture. We will be
8 j5 O3 F' v" Iguided by our long-standing policies of encouraging competition and9 i: b! B, c: Y: n5 H& O
investment, increasing consumer choice, minimizing regulation and allowing
1 r4 i/ d! v- o) U& hmarket forces to prevail.

chosen to examine these concerns that the government shares with a large) M1 w) e3 m/ ~; f" y2 w1 D
