It would be always be safe and recommended to wear a suit, men or women, for any office job interview, to show your seriousness to get the job and respect for the interviewer. This way you also don't have to worry you are wearing wrong outfit. ( Almost a rule in the US, maybe not in Canada?)

I cannot agree with you any more. I don’t think there’s a big difference between US and Canada, or even in China, actually it’s becoming the basic common sense of being dressed formally and appropriately during the interview. Office is definitely not the suitable place to experiment fashion. Unless you don’t feel comfortable for wearing a conservative suit for the interview, at least try to avoid any loud color or complicated patterned fabrics. Solid and plain color is always recommended.
