Wow. In edmonton, if we're talking about academics, then it is definitely going to be in the following order1 i8 ]+ z( N' C! _: C

2) Harry Ainlay2 o# b. ]& @$ A5 O# l" T% Z

Strathcona is more known for being a "jock" school - in other words, very athletic. It was also more populated with caucasians... I don't know if that's changed in the last 4/5 years... maybe there are more asians there now? Don't know. 0 s0 ]7 E8 d# m* P
+ [8 n/ j J& q& \8 L7 q% t$ XAnyways, besides Strathcona being well known for sports, I have never really heard of it being well known for other attributes... Yes there is an AP program, but as far as I know, IB (as offered by Harry Ainlay) is still more renowned. Also... Harry Ainlay has a french immersion program. :)

1 Y% q- N9 X" x- e4 O5 TVic Comp used to be attractive for "artsy students", but now, the new Lillian Osbourne has taken its ranks for being an artsy school...

( U+ V, Y" Z) N/ uOtherwise, I still consider Old Scona and Harry Ainlay some of the better schools around in terms of academics :)

Like I said, I graduated from high school a few years ago, maybe rankings have changed. But when I was in high school, this is what the schools I previously named above were well-known for. Hope this helped! |
