This is a long term posting with the successful applicants being called to fill positions on an ‘as-required’ basis.4 v3 ?$ a2 x0 |) a$ _

• Transport passengers to and from destinations on prescribed scheduled routes.+ s& X7 r$ H0 n
• Collect proper fare, issue transfers.- ~7 t2 u+ b; \" [& R. C( G1 T$ W
• Respond to customer queries concerning transit information.! Y! }0 H+ A$ b
• Operate a Transit diesel bus and/or trolley coach, on a day, night or split shift under varying weather ( r! S- m* H! @ d
and traffic conditions.

( w8 u% [# J# E; V9 s1 ~8 q• Obey and follow defensive driving guidelines, local traffic laws and Transit system regulations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
( |3 `8 A' ~8 @/ D( o• Grade eleven (11) or an equivalent educational level is required. Formal training in driving or public relations will be considered an asset.0 W& a. |/ \! ]$ V
• Proven ability to deal directly with the public, with well-developed customer service skills; the ability # c; }' |9 r3 \' n- z
to be diplomatic and courteous in dealing with the public, from the first passenger to the last passenger

7 b" i) w: O6 U• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job (operate bus controls, re-set trolley poles, provide passengers with assistance i.e. strollers, wheelchairs etc.).6 s8 N; r$ @1 o
• Applicant must possess a valid class 5 Alberta Motor Vehicle Operator's license (non-probationary and non-graduated) and must have held a valid operator's license for (3) consecutive years.
+ j6 O; S' c, K) {& S• Selected applicants must pass the Alberta Motor Vehicle Operator's class 2 written test, at their own expense, prior to training." v, ~% J4 i ? ^3 F
• Applicant must provide a current driver's abstract (obtained within 14 days of the video test date)
' x6 N: A* s( D+ I- ishowing no suspensions and no more than 3 demerits recorded over the previous 2 year period. $ i7 }7 `1 C- \! U" I3 m; d
• Ability to pass a written English comprehension test, a public relations video-test, a driving skill
, B, G+ u0 F1 x8 V: M6 dvideo-test, a Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation (F.A.R.E.) test, a pre-employment City medical examination and a Police Security clearance (at their own expense, prior to training).: e! G6 S2 V( ?' r. c4 ?( [

Various hours of shift work (straight or split shift), any time of the day, any 5 days of the week
