2000. The Chief Returning Officer shall be recommended to Students'

Standing Orders by April 15 and serve from May 1 to April 30 of the 8 i) W0 Y: z( Q1 \/ K8 E
year following their appointment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1) To run the elections as per Bylaws 2000

2) To run referenda/plebiscites as per Bylaw 2000.

" s1 l: h$ z/ r* R( P* e3 J- E3) To choose the Deputy Returning Officer(s) and assign their duties.8 q2 u, X0 t4 t- V( F

4) To organize polls during elections/referenda, including appointing
' n8 y+ |# w+ J2 z) W$ ^adequate poll staff and situating polls at appropriate locations " E* y2 T% Z5 w- E
across campus, and advertising the poll locations.

5) To oversee the physical count of the ballots during elections/

6) To report the result of an election/referendum to the appropriate 5 ]% n# z8 E2 N$ N- D
parties.

7) To facilitate classroom speaking arrangements during an election/

10) To be available to all parties during elections/referenda for a

. V$ d% x$ g; Q' V5 [/ L11) To act as the arbitrator in any dispute which may arise during

14) To organize a minimum of one (1) forum to be held during the week # |8 v, a$ J1 J4 u9 r4 {7 B
of campaigning.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1) Must be an undergrad student registered in at least one (1) course
% H! B6 a+ O2 P+ d Q& R" Rfor each of the terms of Winter Session and shall be a full Students'

9 Q J. u9 l+ k, D
2) Must have some experience in student elections.
; J6 |3 Z9 [0 r5 I) m+ I& W4 X5 Z& O! G3 H8 F+ a: s
3) Shall not concurrently hold a position on Students' Council, or
& f2 m6 H' E- m7 |any of its standing boards, committees, or any other paid position
