& A# p' T1 e0 ?7 P$ fsociety led by a youth board of directors to enhance/encourage youth
volunteerism in Alberta. By working with nonprofit organizations/youth
$ ^7 \6 M2 B2 x, Gages 14-24, we foster collaboration between motivated youth,
8 a8 Q9 q% q8 r9 b! Corganizations and citizens wanting to build healthier societies and more
sustainable communities.

Position Abstract: The Executive Director provides day-to-day management
! t8 E1 ^, I5 w: H. J+ l) S2 E& tand leadership of Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! (AYV!). The ED is a
non-voting member and champions youth volunteerism in Alberta.  The ED
works within the structures set by the organization's bylaws and
- w' w4 X0 \/ h9 B4 Spolicies to ensure ethical and professional management of organization's
affairs at all times.

Primary Responsibilities: Helps Board of Directors in developing a
7 X) W0 L" C* tvision & strategic plan; Establish strong relationships & collaborative
arrangements with community groups, sponsors, governments, schools,
0 Z3 b( n7 v! E  d! r1 q! t- smedia/other stakeholders to achieve the goals of AYV!; Prepare reports
, \; r* @6 ?4 |" Yfor the Board; Assist the Board in drafting policies/prepare procedures
to implement the organizational policies.

) R3 Q7 {# V4 J6 b7 u. C# C/ NPLUS: Ensure good record keeping; Ensure funders' grants are stewarded
as per their requirements; Plan, implement and evaluate programs and
( L. Z6 d" J9 c  @$ w* C- Gservices; Recruit, interview, select & coach staff/volunteers that have
* c0 j9 s/ f, |5 Nthe right abilities to help further the organization's mission.
0 t$ q+ W  ?* o% b/ o- H8 o, Q, y
In addition: Prepare budget; Search & secure adequate; oversees the
) y0 s  V/ a$ N' [* idevelopment of fundraising plans/writing funding proposals; Administer
  g2 ~5 I! {! athe funds of the organization & monitor the monthly cash flow; Ensure
5 z2 T* ]/ w1 W, K0 Cthat bookkeeping/accounting practices are followed; Process accounts
payable; Develop communication/marketing tools to increase awareness of
) ~5 `8 J) e6 h; }9 jthe organization & its programs; Work with website contractor/developer.

Key Qualifications: Experience working with a number of different groups
& F: j7 D" k+ n: W) @including a Board of Directors, non-profit organizations, government
/ O9 C6 V5 Y: _. c1 y' ~! [partners sponsors, employees, volunteers, and youth; Understanding of
organizational financial management and CRA requirements; Ability to
work in a self-directed work environment; Experience planning and
( M6 O5 y# s6 `- amanaging projects and budgets.
& f4 V# e" Q3 [3 ?# O1 w
PLUS: Creative approach to marketing; Understanding of board governance
processes an asset; Experience obtaining sponsorship and writing
proposals; A youthful spirit and enthusiasm for championing and working
with youth.
