ages 14-24, we foster collaboration between motivated youth,
organizations and citizens wanting to build healthier societies and more
sustainable communities.

Position Abstract: The Executive Director provides day-to-day management
, M( d! F4 S( U/ L. s! w/ Yand leadership of Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! (AYV!). The ED is a
non-voting member and champions youth volunteerism in Alberta.  The ED
works within the structures set by the organization's bylaws and
policies to ensure ethical and professional management of organization's
7 a" o2 a) M9 ]' _affairs at all times.

5 E! R2 q" [0 E% u7 o$ mPrimary Responsibilities: Helps Board of Directors in developing a
vision & strategic plan; Establish strong relationships & collaborative
% u4 h. I$ L' z6 J" larrangements with community groups, sponsors, governments, schools,
4 J8 M5 L9 H' o) N) mmedia/other stakeholders to achieve the goals of AYV!; Prepare reports
+ l; a; _: b5 `/ z+ }  B# {for the Board; Assist the Board in drafting policies/prepare procedures
& ~, w/ f$ j7 Uto implement the organizational policies.

PLUS: Ensure good record keeping; Ensure funders' grants are stewarded
as per their requirements; Plan, implement and evaluate programs and
services; Recruit, interview, select & coach staff/volunteers that have
the right abilities to help further the organization's mission.

8 o6 L! ^4 U. t, R! XIn addition: Prepare budget; Search & secure adequate; oversees the
development of fundraising plans/writing funding proposals; Administer
# _/ t  A& Z2 t7 l, N) q. _the funds of the organization & monitor the monthly cash flow; Ensure
+ m/ M6 }: C5 v1 }3 Cthat bookkeeping/accounting practices are followed; Process accounts
payable; Develop communication/marketing tools to increase awareness of
. }' T9 \* A$ Wthe organization & its programs; Work with website contractor/developer.

Key Qualifications: Experience working with a number of different groups
, B9 U0 E- G4 W3 ~6 Y9 R6 V2 ^including a Board of Directors, non-profit organizations, government
partners sponsors, employees, volunteers, and youth; Understanding of
organizational financial management and CRA requirements; Ability to
! z3 K) l6 u1 T* \5 Z2 Twork in a self-directed work environment; Experience planning and
managing projects and budgets.

PLUS: Creative approach to marketing; Understanding of board governance
, j, `2 h! q3 S& [1 U' Sprocesses an asset; Experience obtaining sponsorship and writing
proposals; A youthful spirit and enthusiasm for championing and working
