ACTION FOR HEALTHY COMMUNITIES (AHC) is recruiting students (preferably members of a visible minority community and/or of a Disability community) for the following summer position: Community Initiatives Documenter. We are a non-profit community development organization operating in central Edmonton. We promote community inclusion as a strategy for increasing citizenship participation and action.

Position Responsibilities

6 p! K. N4 G4 y5 g8 a( zCommunity Initiatives Documenter
The CI Documenter will contact and meet leaders of 30 Community Initiatives (mini-projects) to discuss and document their progress to date, facilitate a planning process for each CI to sustain their outcomes, and create a final document analyzing CI trends, strengths, learnings and plans.

" D" ]7 U4 t& z' G( ]Education Background: Health Promotion, Sociology, or related Social/Human Sciences field.

) ~# U2 j$ e$ g) aQualifications:
; _8 N! ~0 H* o, c. I8 h9 E1.        Full-time college or university student, under 30 years of age before and after the position and not attending full-time classes while participating in their placement.
$ Y5 F, L, m0 m2 n) _: r: N* ^2.        Legally entitled to work according to relevant federal and provincial legislation and regulations.
3.        Good organizational and verbal and written communication skills.
7 e; e' n+ ^* k  }4.        Team player and also able to work independently. Able to deal proactively with change and achieve goals through coordination with other people.
