BARTENDER - Room At The Top (RATT) - includes some serving) V! N/ R5 i# x: U+ b

$ J+ t$ {5 x, n# d" w- ]! S- a22.5 hours a week - Hours from 10:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., Monday

JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
$ w) k6 J& f, X" Z2 NOperations Manager, the Bartender is responsible for carrying out the    v5 n( M# D0 `4 l4 `
procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of customer service,  
8 ?+ B1 _  ?: S4 j% `cleanliness and order in the bar.
+ n2 f( R7 v$ F# o! I8 `, C2 y3 Z8 |: R9 S' r' E  }
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:5 z. A6 ]  s0 |; l6 C  G8 ^4 C. k7 \
1) Provides service to Servers and customers by dispensing food and  
3 B5 z) {6 S: g& v+ o5 t# W5 [0 `/ |beverage items.
1 t  b5 K% Z- b+ U, y) }& c* t. ]8 _" W
2) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold, and for the  
) n/ u9 A0 ]6 t0 Z0 J! Nbar and debit floats.- x, b3 ?6 a0 {" q
, J9 R& }% P/ [+ N
3) Opens and closes the bar - counts floats and sales at the end of  
* O) ]# R$ w6 i0 Z  d7 ~each shift, and upon closing.

/ N2 @% P5 q; z& f4) Cleanliness of all areas, supplies and equipment, with particular  : I( c- V, V1 D* E7 j5 B
attention to areas used by customers including bar counters and  2 W& L( r3 G( e$ O+ z
seating, tables and chairs and surrounding floor surfaces.
. M- c0 ^; {/ S7 q/ b2 i, T0 P3 ^3 N. o4 ]- _9 A5 u* x2 q) i
5) Receives orders from suppliers, rotating stock as required in  
  p, v/ Q) p. Q- ~storage areas.   Restocks kegs, back-bar beer coolers and all alcohol  
- m, l. s0 Z) a- }products, serving supplies and condiments at the end of each shift.
4 M0 d$ Q2 E# {' x: b5 t3 ?" T; ~1 F# S  S! T: z
6) Supervision of staff, with particular attention to close  
+ T  c4 F* f4 B8 umonitoring of Servers to ensure that customers consistently receive a  
% p" C* j1 r5 V+ G9 B6 ohigh level of customer service offered with a positive attitude in  , |- ?( r8 U; E+ v# n
accordance with Students' Union policies.5 H" _8 J8 y  F( P& l) t

7) Training part-time staff in a manner consistent with maintaining a  " ~  M1 c7 H* z2 x9 Q: u% p
high standard of customer service and effective operation of the room.$ O7 R9 ?0 o1 i8 y1 J
To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
8 T, E. e* u8 K! Y# j% RAuthority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.
9 C5 R! D, L/ o  ~* {$ I9 h4 B- a' W9 H! G* k) D. E  D# s
9) Other job related duties as required by the Operations Manager,  
- {( i! s. ?& I8 oSenior Operations Manager and Senior Manager.% }# w* k6 g- m

QUALIFICATIONS:
; Q( N, n1 ?+ a& {. S8 B1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.
& f; F# L0 ~% d2 F! n0 O6 R: e5 d, m# V/ m6 I  Q
2) Minimum of two years experience bartending in a high-volume  
3 p( V6 P% ^3 H  C3 X4 N- ?( A$ voperation.5 c1 n. m4 {3 i0 C) \
5 Y* T4 q' z% `: @1 _( n8 u& o- o
3) Excellent work habits, appearance, personal hygiene and dress in  
2 ^3 q0 C- G/ xaccordance with Students' Union policy.
1 C4 g# @2 }5 ~/ W9 h% v* f) x+ H' g9 \9 d. C, N
4) Good physical condition, the ability to handle full beer kegs." B4 T" \  _& g* Q# Z4 l# o5 m
