Drainage Services, Asset Management & Public Works( d# M. R$ `- O% ] a' i5 M W
• Construction of sewer lines, catch basins, access and drop manholes, watermains, feedmains, hydrants, ditches, water appurtenances, concrete structures such as storm outlets.
) z3 P& r; I6 U/ Z4 f! R- e• Digging holes and trenches by hand, excavation activities on major open cut projects ensuring placement of shoring, timbers, and struts; cutting, grinding levelling, jointing and laying of pipe.
' X, r6 @$ |/ I- o. k; n• Repairing sewer services, main lines and pumping stations; cleaning sewer and drainage systems by low pressure flushing; assisting drainage servicemen in inspecting, rodding and televising sewer services; repairing manholes and catchbasins; assisting equipment operators in performing high pressure flushing and vaccuum cleaning activities.

" Z e, X) q( a1 Z3 y• Maintenance of parks: mowing, herbiciding and sanitation of turf, shrub and flower bed maintenance, marking & maintaining sports fields, playground inspections and servicing.
% ~' e; p9 U3 p8 j7 e: b• Construction of parks: manual labour using hand tools such as shovels, rakes and stake pounders.
5 f5 i1 P' z* {• Park service and trail maintenance: including sanitation of picnic sites, amenity buildings, repair of signs, roadways, trail surfaces, irrigation & homeless camps.6 [% z% F: M7 ?# [
• Forestry operations including various arboriculture tasks- assist in the development and maintenance of the urban forest.

Roadway Maintenance / Traffic Field Operations, Transportation

• Pouring, spreading, tamping and leveling soil, sand, gravel and concrete.

Recreation Facilities Branch, Community Services

• Assists with on-going general facility maintenance and cleaning at Recreation Facilities.

• Completion of the eighth school grade or equivalent. Must be indicated on application/resume.% r! |4 M- h8 ^2 y
• Possession of a valid Motor Vehicle Operator's License. Must be indicated on application/resume.# d! u7 n+ |; p8 n
• Applicants may be tested, and where required to operate a City vehicle, must attain a City of Edmonton driving permit upon appointment.0 F) L3 z% E6 G
• Physically capable of performing heavy labour work for extended periods of time under various weather and traffic conditions.

• Team player & self-motivated, possibility of working alone on scheduled shift.

SALARY RANGE: 10M, Salary Grade: 013, starting at $15.11 (Hourly). Rates are based on employee status and length of service. The rates quoted are in accordance with an agreement between the Union and the City.- \( e* u) P- Y4 |3 [
