currently recruiting for the position of Summer Program Assistant - Job

Salary to be paid will be $14.00 per hour (includes vacation pay, stat
pay, student premium, and second language augmentation)

0 o& F) }: }! x+ ?! W& |6 _2 D+ ]Hours per week will be 20 - 30 - 20 during the first few weeks, then 30
- 35 per week during the busy period. There may be an opportunity for
the student to stay on a casual basis (10 - 20 hours per week) once the

( c) I) Z% f$ |# f& k6 LDuties include: preparing for programs by working with current staff at
/ H5 [* A0 l. [; s- cCIBS to secure and schedule various program requirements (off-campus
venues, tour agents, goods and services, program materials and supplies,
; a# q+ L3 B2 M3 q6 L! j  Wetc.); reproducing and distributing documents and correspondence for
participants, assisting to orient participants to the University and
# {6 W3 f2 V  X2 e# etheir program on their arrival, and trouble-shooting for them during
their program; booking program venues, setting up for sessions,
assisting visiting speakers or invited session presenters, striking
venue at end of session; traveling as guide with groups on in-city
outings or site visits, or, occasionally, on overnight out-of-city
excursions (does not involve driving or overnight week night
1 _, R7 q, l3 ~. W, V; J/ uexcursions); interpreting (non-technical exchanges) at meetings or
functions; translating, revising or drafting program-related documents
: q$ J$ _  o$ Dsuch as schedules, itineraries, notices, correspondence, PowerPoint
presentations, program binders, evaluation forms, etc.

. ^! f9 \# q2 o+ ?5 A: {5 kQualifications include: senior undergrad student; coursework in
3 {2 J# P- S2 A- b1 ~Commerce, Education or Economics preferred, ability to communicate
7 B' K/ Y9 R# `  x0 f% {9 ?# K) p* Dfluently (oral and written) in English and Mandarin Chinese,
demonstrates a high-level of self organization, initiative to undertake
2 A7 D# l6 {: U6 ta variety of tasks; ability to coordinate individual efforts with those
of co-workers, excellent interpersonal organization and time-management
- i7 y+ J9 n5 n: `* [4 N8 d7 ^5 \( hskills; accuracy to detail; working knowledge of MS applications (Word,
2 N5 W  p/ Q3 v1 qExcel, PowerPoint and Outlook); administrative experience an asset,
experience coordinating group activities an asset.
