The University of Alberta - Department of Chemistry is currently
recruiting for the position of Laboratory Technician Assistant - Job No.
& T5 O2 b1 w2 }# W) a4 j9 ~9195.  

Salary to be paid will be $15.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.
( f/ _8 H5 n1 E5 q/ b3 m" P/ H
Duties include: working closely with graduate students and research
technicians, the candidate will work on the synthesis of intermediates
! Y2 `; [$ |9 C. lfor use in chemical and biochemical research. Particular duties will
include carrying out chemical and/or enzymatic reactions and purifying
compounds by chromatography.
( W/ Q: h# `; ^) u( [8 W2 @3 N
Qualifications include successful completion of courses in organic
" x3 P) U& O" l! O; t3 @Chemistry (Chemistry 263 or equivalent) and ideally biochemistry and
analytical chemistry; familiarity with basic biology and chromatographic
9 s+ J" b) V# |- m% ^* `' ]separations important. Attention to detail and ability to work as part
of a team essential.
This position will provide the candidate with experience in biochemical
  g% J/ W& E( k6 U2 u  ]5 gand chemical research and would be ideal for students who ultimately
hope to work in these areas.
