Position: Part-time Assistant

Statistics Canada is looking for a reliable individual for a part-time position to work evenings and
# j/ }# Q5 ?% E. v" } _5 hweekend hours.
3 S5 k# E; `- P4 lYou will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the Research Data Centre (RDC) computer
9 q; g6 l6 {/ `9 [* R5 {8 B" q6 vlab located on the University of Alberta campus as well as providing administrative support for the2 U* A* a" H: m! d+ K$ d0 p
centre.
3 i3 J) S* P6 P3 W# n! oThese responsibilities include:
' i/ ^) T& @. S6 Y-Maintain the integrity of the security systems in the RDC.
+ z* D3 N& K( t-Provide basic support to clients on operating Window XP./ F* Y8 g' ]4 Y% Q# Q- z1 M
-Provide general office administration support, such as filing, upgrading software and8 ]" f5 o4 ?2 r. ~
renewing licenses, communicating with various university departments with respect to 2 J! q8 U" P* R6 U, I
facilities’ maintenance, etc. ' b2 t9 ?' [) Z+ _
-Conduct other office related tasks, such as Internet documents search, backup of electronic

Statement of Qualifications

-Successful completion of Bachelor degree in administration, business, computer sciences,
; v- a7 _6 ~/ N# V& v9 v! Beducation, economics, sociology, statistics or related discipline; or an acceptable combination
7 U& z4 W% S4 R3 F2 i# y; Iof education, training and /or experience. " e( [) s1 }( U
Knowledge/Technical competencies:
2 a9 R1 y4 D1 l* z-General knowledge of the Microsoft Window operating system.
; v9 y4 n* y s7 T-Extensive experience in using Microsoft Window office application software including Word- O* H# s9 X& V5 `% y; {5 Z8 g
and Excel. - a, T' R* k/ B$ |- n4 i
-Experience using and updating an information database.

-Experience in web page publication, xml and/or IT network knowledge.
