Job description
1 S; q, ^' C) @+ y, T# xStatistics Canada is looking for a reliable individual for a part-time position to work evenings and4 c$ l' J5 I0 A: R
weekend hours.0 u6 V! i/ C' f8 ^7 z% {: ]. B
You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the Research Data Centre (RDC) computer
5 ~( _0 ^( }) V0 M+ U" q6 q6 llab located on the University of Alberta campus as well as providing administrative support for the! ^3 i: {4 S# O
centre.& e- ?$ o. C5 X8 g: I3 ]7 k
These responsibilities include:; h5 g+ F7 Q( }
-Maintain the integrity of the security systems in the RDC.. q7 @3 L$ h$ u0 T. _
-Provide basic support to clients on operating Window XP.
) X$ J1 X% {( u+ a% B" V. ^0 \-Provide general office administration support, such as filing, upgrading software and$ \& y5 i) d+ Q7 P. C2 I( ?) b
renewing licenses, communicating with various university departments with respect to
/ p% p T/ @$ M( A2 M8 A& @# hfacilities’ maintenance, etc. 5 ]$ b* x9 p, K7 j
-Conduct other office related tasks, such as Internet documents search, backup of electronic
- |! t* W0 s. e- Rclients’ files etc. ' c* D2 f) S$ y# k# E* d( j2 H

Education:
1 B# z6 ?! n& o6 m-Successful completion of Bachelor degree in administration, business, computer sciences, ( r7 [8 v- h7 J. e& d
education, economics, sociology, statistics or related discipline; or an acceptable combination ! F9 @9 D- `# {4 I# c$ B9 a3 m
of education, training and /or experience. 4 e7 u; T! K" {" C: A
Knowledge/Technical competencies:
( f" ^* C1 ?: c-General knowledge of the Microsoft Window operating system.; P6 a) Z) b" z4 I/ ]
-Extensive experience in using Microsoft Window office application software including Word
" ^3 c! t3 P% ^) v [9 g( |and Excel. 2 q9 X7 x2 X* Q6 n& _3 u
-Experience using and updating an information database.

-Experience in one of the Statistics software: SAS, SPSS or STATA

-Ability to operate a computerized system to research information.
