Position: Part-time Assistant

Hourly rate: $20 ($40,101 per annum prorated at 12 hours per week)

Statistics Canada is looking for a reliable individual for a part-time position to work evenings and
, A! a7 G W* m$ H* xweekend hours.
, \ |. u: K7 b0 p3 H7 F5 nYou will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the Research Data Centre (RDC) computer4 r6 G. |( m, P( r ^$ |
lab located on the University of Alberta campus as well as providing administrative support for the" d6 U; w2 M2 K% g2 [1 P
centre.
$ v/ y5 S9 P3 NThese responsibilities include:
2 e3 a% ~$ Q( {1 b-Maintain the integrity of the security systems in the RDC.) @1 c& O% H- g$ \1 n& [
-Provide basic support to clients on operating Window XP.
( g) B5 C3 n- {5 _' d" s8 q a-Provide general office administration support, such as filing, upgrading software and( w# t7 ?/ S" G" m+ O
renewing licenses, communicating with various university departments with respect to : J8 j: d" s7 @1 n, X3 |' o" n9 R) s
facilities’ maintenance, etc.

Education:
( a0 N+ l, f9 F/ t-Successful completion of Bachelor degree in administration, business, computer sciences,
2 Y0 A- R4 n, `7 J. Yeducation, economics, sociology, statistics or related discipline; or an acceptable combination 4 C9 t9 g9 u; R# W1 l' w: b
of education, training and /or experience.
. T) b- G- u& ]) PKnowledge/Technical competencies:3 {# _; _7 u' M3 j' C$ U1 ?
-General knowledge of the Microsoft Window operating system.
F, W$ Y$ N) j-Extensive experience in using Microsoft Window office application software including Word/ Y) Y6 a8 X; t. ?- |1 c6 D/ G
and Excel. y( J0 @' |( |% V) Y
-Experience using and updating an information database. * ]$ l: r/ ?+ R7 _& o2 t* p
! ]0 o0 e9 O2 M- ^, o' ^+ L

-Experience in using MS Access.

-Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
