亚省医生投票赞成提高费用的草案& s% T5 R- B# \* p

8 I0 n: _* p1 |1 Q: X+ h2 }) vEDMONTON (CP) - A tentative deal that would see Alberta doctors receive their first fee increase in almost a year-and-a-half should help retain physicians in the booming province, but it won't necessarily improve patient care, says the president of the Alberta Medical Association.

( s% c3 F$ n5 A+ G"It will keep physicians hopefully in this province. It will hopefully attract more physicians to this province and therefore has the potential to improve care," Dr. Gerry Kiefer said at a news conference Saturday. 4 D# ~7 s# c6 Q' z7 k
. N) j+ D$ Y0 V- B5 t' f"But to say that any fiscal agreement is going to improve that care would be making a huge assumption."
