Today I was volunteering at a post office. A man in an old jacket with uncombed hair came to the counter. He had a wallet in his hand, and put it on the counter. He told me:

3 s' D3 V1 b$ e4 M- T7 {I did not understand what he meant by "it", because usually people would send a letter or a parcel back to the sender, and I did not see he had any of those. So I asked him:/ g9 \' F8 C4 A3 {
"I am sorry, what are you sending back?" 2 ]8 k: H& `$ o) \9 p
He said, "the Wallet, I am sending back the wallet." Then he added: "I am going to pay the postage." , d( Q4 p$ l- i
"Oh, you found a wallet, and you are going to send it back to the person who lost it?"
% f9 \6 O4 h0 ~+ _% v0 ~& n"Yes, I did."
0 F$ f8 ]- {% h8 o6 s$ ^6 [6 tFinally I understood: this dishevelled man found a wallet, and he was going to return it to the owner by post.
& D, q2 \$ P4 }2 q: K" p" H4 w; m2 pHe took the ID card from the wallet, and showed me the address of the loser of the wallet. I saw there were several one-hundred bills in the wallet. ' L- w' `: m5 G8 o9 U" [
"Are you going to take some money from the wallet to pay the postage?"
5 k4 A7 c1 L y. {' q"No, I am not. I do not do those things."
* [5 P$ |3 B0 r7 s4 e @4 G) GHe took out his wallet, which was nearly worn-out, small, and almost empty. There were some coins inside. ) N" j& `: b3 x J/ \$ p
I gave him a bubbled envelope, and instructed him where to write the addresses. He wrote the owner's address, but stopped at writing a return address. He asked:

"Yes, you may." I thought he must want to be a nameless hero. But he said:8 j' O% n" u. D* f
"I do not have an address."2 S4 N0 ?: R$ x& Y0 O0 Q+ w' v. x
I was surprised: "oh, where do you live?"2 F5 a% M3 ?) ?& I
He did not look up, and said: "I do not have a home."! Q" w2 `1 R$ n- a
My heart had a sudden jump. I realized that this is a homeless man who found money but was sending it back to the person who lost it.
& c' y" \7 a" P% e$ FHe did not a posses a home, but he had a big heart. He had the precious fortune of being a man of integrity. $ c+ m& J! b7 O' I% W, d. s# }
