A 92-year-old, petite, well-poised and proud man, who is fully dressed

shaved perfectly applied, even though he is legally blind, moved to a

His wife of 70 years recently passed away, making the move necessary. # ]! V- f! l# k4 o' o% X, u
After many hours of waiting patiently in the lobby of the nursing home,
5 k6 F8 m1 h" {7 O" {he smiled sweetly when told his room was ready. ; d* G) \/ H: _: O1 r) Q
" A1 w, E. [2 o& d; r; c( T2 {As he maneuvered his walker to the elevator, I provided a visual * ^- ], V' I7 _8 ?; w. O
description of his tiny room, including the eyelet sheets that had been ' A7 o7 ]# q6 {+ x+ G' F
hung on his window. 5 u. @1 z6 s" m l

"I love it," he stated with the enthusiasm of an eight-year-old having 7 }+ p- \' Q8 }
just been presented with a new puppy.

room or not doesn't depend on how the furniture is arranged ... it's how : Z# Y* F) \# Z2 e4 s, K* D
I arrange my mind. I already decided to love it." ) u/ x2 c% {7 g9 e& A/ K9 a$ [

It's a decision I make every morning when I wake up.

I have a choice; I can spend the day in bed recounting the difficulty I $ ~8 M0 F' v: I P! i4 f4 { ~
have with the parts of my body that no longer work, or get out of bed 2 V: `" i h" ]. v2 n, @
and be thankful for the ones that do.

Each day is a gift, and as long as my eyes open I'll focus on the new

Old age is like a bank account. You withdraw from what you've put in.

So, my advice to you would be to deposit a lot of happiness in the bank * u/ o0 k7 y1 J/ y" M T
