The item, which turned out to be a DVD player, was reported to police just after 8:30 a.m. and officers swooped in to shut down entrances to the shopping centre.2 o% ~* ~0 N+ R9 k% }3 m

Police evacuated the mall, and a short time later determined the package was merely a DVD player left on a bench outside the SportCheck store.2 ~ }3 g. N7 S+ v7 F2 p: O

"I think we made a very measured response and dealt with the safely issues appropriately," said Staff Sgt. Steve Jones. "We just contained an area within the mall."+ ]- `& Y' U6 b) o4 b- X
