Newcomers are being offered some help when shopping for a home in Edmonton’s tight housing market.
! d: v6 l S; H$ B! vImmigrant women and their families can now access a “household toolkit” crafted by a local service group for new immigrant families, through real estate agents.

7 g8 d" w* a. ^$ v* O, v8 }In the tool kit are 75 common hand tools – like a hammer and screwdriver – as well a book on how to buy a home, a home maintenance schedule and other items.

1 f& q) m% f9 U7 X) I5 Y( B“The tools are a symbol of hope for people trying to build new lives in Edmonton,” said Madeline Sarafinchan, president of the Edmonton Real Estate Board.
