Reports to: Fabrication Shop Supervisor

* q( |) ~2 w9 k) b$ b) w: V) u1 ZLocation: The job is based in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, however frequent travel to project sites in various provinces of Canada is required.


8 Q! Q( {- p% G: ^) e# c& h) D: j' o6 O4 qResponsibilities and Tasks
' ~* X6 ^- l$ C4 F- J
-        Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment  
  n8 V. Q8 F2 R! g- i% p-        Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to determine layout requirements
-        Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
-        Select type and size of pipe required
' }3 j+ X, l( \( l& C; ~-        Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools
; f" |& Q0 Y! u-        Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system
-        Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
-        Test system for leaks using testing equipment
-        Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system
-        Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system
-        Actively participate in the Iyinisiw safety program

Required Qualifications

: V4 A# r1 M3 u4 ~" e% B-        Completion of secondary school
8 g) p( b4 B7 K7 Y. }-        Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program of four- to five-years or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in pipefitting system installation
0 j6 l+ W/ c8 i5 e" s- Q8 M/ R-        Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
-        Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
2 o# O% Z1 z" E; D8 R. M-        Pipefitter trade certification is considered an asset
-        Safety tickets are considered an asset
% {) M9 U, ~5 ?$ Q9 ?: S-        Valid drivers’ license is an asset
% j" g% g4 @" w4 I1 N4 @-        Interprovincial Red Seal is an asset
