此谣传是从这个球星将转会离开爱城的消息被报导后，通过网上的聊天论坛和e-mails流传开来的。

Pronger的沉默，也使得这个传言越来越象真的。

昨天城市电视台的负责人Craig Roskin 向媒体称，在强大的传言的压力下，他不得不站出来辟谣。

! {) s$ E) j' U+ i  _他称谣传的开头涉及到本台的好几位编辑，后来渐渐集中到一个女员工身上。

! q7 J- j/ `; @5 ?9 a* F他并没有提及该员工的名字，但是在Citytv员工Christie Chorlie 的个人网站上，有关于与Pronger 有染的澄清声明。
